Catherine Here!
You have asked me for breakfast ideas and you’ve got them!!
We all know that to maintain a consistent blood sugar level, to avoid night time eating and cravings, and to keep our metabolism moving constantly, we NEED to eat breakfast!
On The Cabbage Soup Diet
During the Cabbage Soup Week, you should try to eat your soup as early as you can! I know some of you don’t like to hear that, but it’s true.
On your fruit days, enjoy some fresh fruit.
On your veggie days, try to have some fresh veggie slices, like carrots or celery, or blend your favorite veggies together for a fresh juice. You can do this on non-soup days, too.
If you like something warm, but don’t want to eat the soup, puree some cold soup and drink it as a healthy juice, or just heat up some of the soup’s broth and drink that.

Off The Cabbage Soup Diet
When you’re not on the Soup, you should still think about eating fresh fruits and veggies to start your day, but you can be a little more creative!

Carbs & High Fiber!
There are days when you want a big, hearty, breakfast. And you CAN get what you want!
Just add in some healthy substitutions instead!
Apple Sauce Pancakes
-1/4 cup whole wheat flour
-1/2 cup old fashioned oats
-1/2 cup fat free milk
-1 tsp baking powder
-1/4 tsp salt
-1/4 cup sugar*
-1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
-2 large egg whites
-1tbsp of your favorite oil. Place ingredients in a medium bowl and blend well.
Heat your griddle to 375 degrees. Pour about 1/4 cup of pancake batter per pancake. Cook until golden! Easy!
*You can easily use lite brown sugar instead for the same taste and even less calories!
Other Ideas:
Some super quick ways to get more veggies in your belly in the morning:
- add some veggies to your eggs, like onions or peppers
- simply grate zucchini or carrot and add them to muffins (and use apple sauce instead of sugar) for an extra dose of produce!
