frequent bathroom runs...anyone else?

I am having to go to the bathroom...liquid...a lot more than before I started the diet.  Anyone else?

I know it makes sense because I am intaking more fluid thru the soup, but are some of the ingrediantes also diuretic too?  It just seems a little excessive how much I am having to go to the bathroom...

(I have just finished day 1...this may also be due to the intake of fruits and juices there.  I also am getting my req'd. water in every day as well.)

Re: frequent bathroom runs...anyone else?

Cabbage is a diuretic, also tomatoes, also all the fruits especially citrus. You did mention day one. You have to pee a lot to get rid of all the fat residues coming through your kidneys. The cranberry juice helps keep the kidneys clean for the duration.

Re: frequent bathroom runs...anyone else?

I'm never off the toilet up to 6 times a night which means I get little sleep. Hang in there I'm on day three today and still savouring last nights jacket potato! mmmmmmmm.

Re: frequent bathroom runs...anyone else?

Quite the variety of poo coming out of me.. depending on what day.

I'm on day 5 now, carcass and tomatoes!  Lets see what this looks like coming out.

Feels good..  very good cleanse of the intestines.  I've always drank large amounts of water, every day, so I'm used to whizzing a lot, but the frequency of the the BMs  (2,3,4 times a day) is a little different.

Re: frequent bathroom runs...anyone else?

thanks all!  :-)  I would have to say, I'm not doing the number 2 very much!  :-(  But I am whizzing quite a lot.  It's gotten better.  But I often feel bloated, especially right after eating it.  Anyone else?

Oh, yeah, and I found out the onions too is a diuretic, so I guess that adds to the frequent bathroom visits.

Re: frequent bathroom runs...anyone else?

Hello.  Yes, I had to whizz a lot the first few days.   Fruit and veggies always turn into water in me.
I must be a bit lactose intolerant because I didn't have a problem with gas until the skim milk and bananas day.   Am ok today, day 5.   Had beef roast for breakfast!
But eating all of these vegetables and fruits are really good for us - cleans us out, and we're not eating prepared, packaged foods, which are killers.

Re: frequent bathroom runs...anyone else?

I use beano and it really counteracts the gassy affect most of the vegetable create.

I lost 32 pounds in 3 months doing the New Cabbage Soup Diet and have stayed at 124 for the last 3 months eating and exercising sensibly!  You can do it too!
Update I'm now down to 121 and counting.
Update as of 9/12 I'm 120!
After my recent bout of CSD 10/6 I'm 117.6

Hi All!  I am on day 5 and had problems with gas on day 1.  I also started taking Beano and it has resolved that problem.

Re: frequent bathroom runs...anyone else?

1st day was no problem only ate the soup in a cup.  As I read father on here it stated eat 2 or 3 bowls a day, so I did on the 2nd day.  It was awful, the bathroom became my bedroom, but I have been on it two days and have lost 5lbs, I am 133 now and was 138 am hoping by day 7 I will be 125.  Although 1st day lost 4lbs 2nd day only 1lb.

Re: frequent bathroom runs...anyone else?

I'm on day 5 and this diet is harder than I expected but does get easier, I thought I would go nuts on day 3 and yes the bathroom on that day was my best friend,  I dont have the BS problem at all no gas at all, but do cramp terribly after I eat my soup, the bathroom has slowed down on day 4 and 5,  but the headaches was so horrible, I just about quit on day 3 but I'm so glad I didnt, but I so enjoyed my carb burger , I talk to a guy who runs a local store from me, he just lost 50 pounds doing this diet, I wondered how he lost so much weight, today I ask him and was shocked it was the same one, So yes It does work and WOW 50 pounds is alot,
I have lost 10 so far, so that is great.
