Hi Guys,
Nice to see all the support and tips. I just joined and am on my first day of the second week. I took 2 days off in between.
Lost 8 pounds the first time. I think I could have reached the 10 lb point but I had a beer on the last day and did not have my soup one day. Just a word of caution on the veggies. Tofu is bean paste. So you may want to reconsider as beans and corn are not allowed.
Add different spices to the soup is a great way to add variety. I agree! Also, what I did for day two was add cauliflower to my bowl of soup. This makes it more chunkier and I still lost weight.
I also feel the bananas did not do too much for me. Weight stayed the same. But what is good about bananas is the inner bitter stuff that sticks to the peel is pure calcium. So, try to include some of those strands in your shake.
Veggies for breakfast does seem strange but in China it is a common breakfast food. Leafy types of veggies like chard, kale or spinach are good choices with some slivered beets. If this is absolutely not going to do it for you, stick to the squash. Sugar pumkins are a good choice. You can actually bake veggies inside the pumpkin and have a kinda squash stew for breakfast.
Good Luck!

Shahnaz,
Congrats on your eight pound loss! That's great!
I also didn't feel like banana day did very much for me and I know a lot of people feel the same way!
Thanks for all of the great tips and advice though! It's always nice to have some new perspective!
Good luck with your second week!

Hi Shanaz and welcome from one newbie to another,
Just curious because tomorrow is day 4 banana day for me. What did you mean when you said you didnt think the bananas didnt do much for you? do you mean interms of contributing to your overall weight loss or just in terms of taste? How many did you eat and how did you eat them? I am really looking forward to banana day tomorrow. Thanks

i hadn't thought about tofu being made from soy beans, but that's a good point. fortunately, there are so many other meat substitutes like tvp (textured vegetable protein) that i'm pretty sure aren't against the rules - otherwise i would be pretty far up a creek
thanks for the pointer!
