Hey everyone I'm new on here and am very interested in this diet. The only problem is I'm a college student and i don't have much time on my own to make this soup. So while searching around i came across this:
http://www.amazon.com/Cabbage-Soup-Diet … B000GJCT8Q
They state the soup is made according to the Cabbage Soup diet. Has anyone tried this?? Is it worth spending the money on? And does it taste decent lol ?

wow never seen that before.
This is what I did though...
I just throw the ingredients in a slow cooker right before bed. In the morning when I woke up it was done. I put some in a container for the fridge and then made individual baggies for the freezer for later date.. Really didn't take tooooo much time.

I've seen that before too, AND they even sell pills of it. I just think it's another rip off and a way for someone to get rich off poor people like us that need to lose weight and have given up on everything else. I would't waste your money, veggies are the cheapest ingrediants around. I think beachy's idea is great! I got up this morning at 5:30am and started making the soup, would have much rather woken up to it brewing...well, probably kinda gross to most people, but I must admit, I do eat the soup for breakast. That way I don't give myself any time to think about eating something else.
Thank you for the info though, perhaps someone will try it or has tried it and will give a shout out about it!

Hi,
I chop everything that is called for, throw it in a big pot with all the water and seasonings...cook for 2 hours---then I keep the big pot in the fridge and dip out whatever amount of soup I am hungry for..heat that amount up and then I am set to go. The soup will last me the entire 7 days and I am never at a loss of what to do when that awful hunger hits!! Total chop and cooking is approximately 2 1/2 hours for a week's worth of ready made soup.

what if me and my sister did the diet together... how long do you think the soup would last between the both of us. i told her whenever we would start running out that she could make more for us since i am always at work.

Again, it depends on how much soup you and your sister end up eating. You will probably eat less soup as the days progress, but if you add the full 12 cups of broth/water when you make your batch, it could last 3 days or even 4?

I tried adding to the crockpot and it worked great. Only thing is my crockpot was not big enough. So I did half in there and half in a huge pot for me to cook later. Does anyone know if this freezes good? I think I saw in the past it should only be in your fridge for a week, and by the looks of it, I will never eat this in a week. There is so much there!

I've never heard of anyone freezing it but I suppose it could be done. However, do not be shocked if you find yourself eating all the soup remember that is your mainstay for the next 7 days

Years ago (I'm talking over 30!) the version that was being done then did freeze well. I can't remember if the ingredients were the exact but if not were very close.
As for the amount, I made a double batch six days ago for my husband & me and we're already out of it! The pot was so large I couldn't even pick it up! I also dipped what we needed into a smaller pot to reheat each time.
haven't been on the scales yet ...
