I'm going to start the Cabbage Soup Diet tommorow. I've tried it before with god results, but can't stand the soup. I want to try a variation eating the veggies raw. I thought I'd would buy the already shredded cabbage that they sell for coleslaw and maybe add the veggies with some Nakano seasoned rice wine vinegar. I would drink the broth and eat tommatoes seperately. I'm just wondering if the Rice vinegar would reduce the effect. I would hate to go through this and not get the results. Any Comments?

Actually, I was thinking the same thing. I HATE the soup. Maybe its just the soup I made but I don't think so. I don't mind cabbage but cabbage in soup is bad. I was thinking of making the soup seperately without the cabbage (and mushrooms) and then just cooking cabbage and eating it with vinegar and a little no fat butter. I don't like the raw. Cooked however? Yummy.
Good Luck! Let me know how it goes. I'm probably going to try it after I'm done this week and the 3DD. So Next Monday. I'm on day 4 right now.

Maryjoann,
It's not your cooking that's the problem. Martha Stewart couldn't make cabbage palatable. It wasn't bad the first time I did it, but after seven days ..... well let's just say the smell repulses me. I'm thinking more like a coleslaw would be easier to take or just dipping the veggies raw. Drinking the broth and water. That's the way I'm going, Ill ket you know what the scale decide.

Thanks for the reply wetchkn, sounds right to me! Raw has to be better for you anyway and a little rice vinegar can't hurt much. I think the vinegar process gets rid of the sugars and the alcohol. I'll let you know how things go and maybe have a recipe to contribute.
