Found you at last!

I don’t know if anyone is still on here who remembers me. I tried to find you at Christmas to wish you a Merry Christmas and didn’t realize this was the old site in a new frock. Fancy losing all those lovely recipes and tips.
If you are wondering who the heck I am, Maga and I lost considerably over 50lbs doing the CSD and I couldn’t have done it without the laughs tips and support on this friendly little forum.
If you do remember me(!) Happy New Year. Hubby and I are fine, still keeping the weight off and enjoying a healthy eating life style. We gained a bit over Christmas (5lbs each) but a few days of low fat got rid of that.
Those of you just starting out, I wish the very best of luck… remember the first week is the worst and after that, each week gets easier. The CSD is a lovely healthy natural way to teach us to appreciate well balanced and healthily cooked  food.
Good Luck to all. Happy Souping and here’s to a slim 2007. Hope I can find you again next Christmas! Toots xxx

Re: Found you at last!

No, I’m the least inspirational person on this earth! Hopeless but harmless sums me up, as LeAnn will tell you, if she still posts on here. I just popped in to see if she was still around.
Losing the weight is easy, keeping it off is the problem.
The secret is not to be too rigid or you will fall off the wagon. Hey, whoever heard of an apple making you fat? If you want fruit on day 2 have some! If you like jacket potatoes then instead of having a huge beast of a thing on day 2, lathered in butter, have a medium one on days 2 and 3 with a squirt of PAM.
If you have a craving for something, try and work a user friendly way around it. Maga used to cut the stalks of cauliflower and broccoli into sticks and munch on those when she had a craving for sugar. But if you do fall off and have a snickers bar… so what? Just pick yourself up, forget it and get on with the diet.
If you have to go our for meal… go! Enjoy it… keep off the booze though! It’s not as if you are eating out every night is it? And better to accept that now and again you will have a ‘proper meal’ than to stick rigidly to the diet and not have a life. Sure as eggs you won’t last the course if you turn into a diet hermit.
Don’t get hung up on salt contents of this and that and what’s full of sodium and what isn’t… If you want something have it. So long as you don’t have a lorry load of fizzy drinks you’re OK.
Don’t worry on the weeks you don’t lose so much as an ounce, that’s when you are losing inches. Just think, we lose weight quickly on this diet, the skin needs time to catch up doesn’t it? Otherwise we’d be gathering up the slack and tying it in a knot on top of our heads!
Maga and I, because we were on the diet for so many months, always took Sunday off and ate what we’d been wanting all week. Do you know, after about a month my tastes changed. I didn’t want such big or rich meals and it was quite a relief to get back on day 1 every Monday.
The very best of luck to you. Toots.

Re: Found you at last!

Hi Toots, firstly congratulations on loosing so much weight, what an achievement.

That is about what I want to loose.  So my question is to you, what form of eating plan did you do between the weeks of csd?  i plan to try and count my WW points and eat healthy but not to be too hectic if I go out and have a glass of wine or dinner with friends, I need a plan for life not for a few months only.

Did you give it two weeks between? or follow the csd in a modified fashion?

Cheers
