Hello everyone,
I am going to be starting the diet next week (my hubby is going out of town- perfect time to diet) I have never done the cabbage soup diet but am really excited to try it. I would love any suggestions or recipes on making the soup tasty.
I have seen some threads about people eating other things than the soup - you can do that?
Thank you in advance!!!

Welcome shedthepounds07...I haven't seen you post anything and if you are still with us.....welcome. The soup is crucial in this woe...and the basis of it....keeps you from ever getting hungry by being able to eat it whenever you want...morning...noon...and night, if you want! Sometimes you have to experiment with the soup seasonings to tweak it to your liking. I like italian style soup...so I use plenty of basil, fennel, oregano...maybe a little garlic, (we grow our own garlic tomatoes and cukes), can of tomato paste (no sugar added, also it usually doesn't contain added salt). Still others like a soup flavored with soy sauce or.... worcestershire sauce...(a good one is Annie's naturals vegetarian) As far as eating other things besides the soup...soup is crucial everyday....other foods change daily...but soup is everyday....... Post....let us know how you are doing....good luck!

Well Brookside Lady, I have just finished my 7 days. It was hell at times. I made at least two batches of soup to see me through the week. First one I blended in to a broth, the second a chuncky soup. But after a week it stiii turned my stomach. Overall I'm glad it is over, as it is a strick diet. The hardest part for me, was the feeling of being on empty most of the time. I did exercise my way throuh this week (Biking + Running), but as I stated earlier it was a kick start to get me back to full fittness. ( after a layoff due to injury) Total loss for the week was 12 lbs. Well pleased feel great for it, body detoxed and I'm sure when you start getting the results,it will keep you going through the harder dys of this diet.
One more thing, dont kno if it was a good thing to do or not! But I did weigh in on a daily basis, as to see what days/food I lost the most on. It did vary quite a bit. Fruit and veg the lbs fell off. Protein /Meat days was alot less, even though I did not pig out !
Hope this helps, It is well worth it and good luck!

Hey Run Fat Man Run...congrats!
12#...WOW...with those kind of results it sure was worth it! As far as weighing in everyday and finding out fruit and veggies days or the weight losing days...one might want to just eat the fruit and veggie days all the time and forget the rest....that probably wouldn't be a good thing to do. I have seen from others posting that they lose the best on those days also.......It is hard to stay off the scale for some...but it can really discourage one when the scale doesn't move...or worse shows a gain.....some even start to cheat...or quit altogether.......thinking...this isn't working, why bother. I think it would be best to wait till the weeks over...that is I you can..............

Good morning y'all! I just wanted to say that while I'm already sick & tired of the soup - I have lost 7 pounds - down from 202 to 195!!!
I have just started my 4th day!!! I'm so excited to see how much more I will lose. This is my first time on this diet & now my oldest daughter & my mom are joining in since I've been so successful! The best part is - I cheated a little, I had a sugar cookie on my first day & a half a slice of bread on the second & third days. What if I hadn't cheated?!?! I could have lost even more - so NO MORE CHEATING!!
How's everyone else doing out there? It seems everyone is pretty successful on this one!
Good luck to all of you!! Thanks for the support!!

Hi ladyDancer
It's better not to cheat, especially if it's your very first time doing this diet. You lose the most weight the 1st time you do the diet, and then you lose less after a 2 week break or whenever you want to do the diet again. But 7lbs is great for your 4th day. Keep it up. Good luck

Hey! I just wanted to give an update. I am 7 lbs down and just starting my 6th day. It really has not been that bad ... I thought I would have struggled on the banana day, but it was not bad at all!! Thanks for all of your support.

Thanks for the reply Nancy, Just wanting to know what to expect but it seems as if we all have different result. I've hit day five and am impressed with myself. Im not usually good with diets.

Thanks, Emerald for the advice! I'm going to do much better for these last few days! I really am looking for losing about 15 pounds and to lose almost half of it in just 3 days! I know that once I hit that 15 pound mark - I will be thrilled, but I'm gonna keep up this diet till I surpass that.
So it's a 2 week break? Dang it! I was thinking only one week - but I want to do this right, so that I lose the maximum amount of weight!
Hey - Teetah!! WOOHOO!!! congratulations! This is your first time too? I'm just starting the banana day. I don't really care for bananas, but I'm eating them. Keep up the excellent work! Keep me updated!!!

This is my first time doing this diet. My goal was to fit into a bridesmaid dress that I have to be in on the 22nd of September. I tried my dress on yesterday and I am almost there -- I think if I lose 3 to 5 pounds more, it will look great!!
You can do the banana day ... someone suggested to me doing a banana shake -- I did not do that, but it sounded good. I ate 6 bananas that day and I substituted on carton of yogurt for my skim milk and ate the soup.

Hi Matiz
No you shouldn't have low fat milk with your tea. Milk day is on day 4 and thats skim milk. If you really want to lose more weight it's best to follow the diet strictly. Good luck.

Teetah - Good luck with that next few pounds & thanks for the shake idea. And I'll definitely get some yogurt...that sounds great!!
It seems to me that eating the bananas plain is making me REALLY hungry. Did you have that problem? I feel like I haven't eaten in days! I'm headed to lunch shortly so I will have my soup then. I hope it curbs the hunger.
Matiz Congratulations on your first day!! Hang in there. I'm only about midway thru my 4th day, and I've lost 7 pounds. I walk in the evenings as well. Good luck!!

Good Morning Teetah! (& everyone else!!)
Banana day is finally over. I didn't cheat, but I really felt hungry until lunch time, when I finally ate a bowl of soup. That really helped cure those hunger pains.
I weighed again this morning, I'm down to 193.6!! WOOHOO!! that's 9 pounds since starting the diet Friday. This is the beginning of my 5th day. I have been snacking on cherry tomatoes and drinking lots of unsweet green tea. I'm feeling GREAT!
I have set a goal for myself - once I reach 165 I'm going to take my boyfriend & go to Puerto Vallarta for a week!! HOORAH!
How's it going for you?

LadyDancer great job! and the trip sounds like heaven, I was there in July and had a wonderful time..be sure you go do the canopy tour and ride the ziplines it was awesome!
teetah you are doing great I am not a bannana fan myself but you made it
matiz, try drinking without the lowfat milk but if you have to have it limit yourself to just a bit in one cup..but the walking was good!
Emerald are you ready to start your fasting? I have been thinking about you these past days

I finished my last day yesterday and I stuck to the rules exactly. I did not weigh myself but I can see in my clothes that I have lost weight. My husband went on the detox with me as he wanted to lose a little tummy fat s well as support me on it. He has also lost that tummy fat.(it's about all the fat he had)
If I can get the willpower again in a couple of weeks I will do the CSD again. Can anybody tell me if they also got painful joints and muscles for a while on the diet and does anyone know why this is.
I admit I never went hungry on this diet until last night after my rice and veggies. Have others found the same or is it maybe jyst phsychological because I knew that soon I could eat other foods that I liked?
