
Can you leave the bell pepper and celery out of the soup and still get the same effect as you would with them?

Hi beckyervin...I believe you can...there are many variations of cabbage soup...just increase the cabbage I would say... maybe use some green string beans, if you have them............Is it that you don't like bell pepper and celery, or just don't have it on hand?

The green pepper and celery are just two things that I really can't eat I really dislike the taste but I really need to lose weight hopefully about 70 lbs eventually I know not over night but I actually know people who have done really well on this diet and I really want to try it.

Hi I am with you on the celery I hate it ....but I cut it up really fine and always blend the soup when heating it up ready to eat so I cant even taste it by then...think its because celery is a diretic thats why they like you to use it(makes you go to the loo more) lol good luck with the diet tahlia xx

Hi tahlia...you are right...celery may have diretic properties...but all that counts is that you have lots of low cal veggies in it . Some call it negitive calories. There are many recipes out there and it seems many alter their soups with those type of veggies...it all's good. I bought yellow summer squash and zuccini squash today, and my next pot of soup will have it in....also some baby string beans. I use a small can of tomato paste, others use the optional V-8 juice..........others use no tomato base. Check the recipe section to find member's cabbage soup recipes...you will see many variations...........

beckyervin, make the soup to your liking with low cal veggies, I love green peppers but not chunks of it in my soup, the same with tomatoes so I put them in a blender and puree them then add them to my soup, I get the benefits but don't have to actually see them in there or chew them LOL

ohh didnt realise that could omit the celery..yepppppeee!!!!! lol I really loath the stuff and I have to mentally tell myself its not in there, now I know I dont have to have it even better will enjoy it even more

Guys...the diet is tweaked in all different ways to be able to stay on it....some don't like banana day so they just do day 3 over again...some don't like meat days so they just do a day they like over and over again...I guess it's what one has to do to stay on the diet...if it works for you...then....so be it! I myself have no problem with any of the days or foods on this diet...but then...that's me. I am on day 2 of the 3DD and am enjoying the change...and except for the limited amount of food and no snacking between meals....I'm liking it...I feel I'm building some disipline...and I need that..............
