Potato on day 2

Im not sure if anyone has thought about this at all.   I have done this as a regular thing at dinner on occassion.  Potato Chips.  I use either reg or sweet potatoes.  Use pam cooking spray and bake them for about 20 minutes.  then broil them to make them crispy.  Depending on how thick you cut them you boil a little longer or less.  They are really good and legal as far as I know.

Re: Potato on day 2

Sounds good Alea and thanks for the idea.  Actually I've made "Oven Fried Potatoes" for years and they are very low cal.  we just have to watch how much spray we use.  I cut them more like french fries but your chip sound good because it would go farther!  Have you every tried with sweet potato?  Great!  I actually have a microwave chip maker and keep forgetting about it, I should try it sometime!

Re: Potato on day 2

I have tried with sweet potatoes too.  I am thinking about using that tonight also instead of reg baked potatoe since its actually healthy for you.  Do you know if its different as far as the diet goes?  I would guess catsup is out cause of the sugar right?  What about using bbq sauce as a seasoning on veggies?  i have one i found with very little sugar.

Also, off that topic.  On Fruit days.  i have found a fruit dip that is No Sugar, No Calorie, No Fat, No Cholesterol,  Gluten Free, No Carb.  Its from Walden Farms and its VERY GOOD.    They have several items in our grocery that are like that.  Are those allowed?  The carmel and chocolate dip for fruits and the dressings for veggies are really very good. I havent used them during the diet but wondering if it could be

Hmmm?  I'd steer clear of Ketsup and even BBQ sauce, they are pretty strict about condiments.  Maybe worcheshire, vinegar, Splenda  (sounds yucky!)  and toss up your own version or something.  I think if you have a dip with zero calories your good.  I have a Walden Farms Blueberry syrup like that. I think it's for pancakes or somethng but could totally work for fruit, although I love it just plain.
Sweet potatoes are fine for day 2 and I agree, so much better for you!  I only wish I had thought of that when I did it last time.
Good Luck!  You should do great, you sound so enthusiastic!  smiley-clapping

Re: Potato on day 2

Well Hubby just got home and i went for a trip to the grocery.  I am making the chips using Sweet potatoes and reg potatoes for a variety.  I picked up some Zuchini, Squash, Mushrooms and red pepper at the store and hubby is grillin them.  Since i am not using my butter on the potatoe he is making a marinade out of a small amount of butter, worcheshire sauce and cajun spice.  sounds like a yummy dinner.  and of course a small helping of soup.  tomorrow im going to make a fruit smoothy for breakfast.  I got frozen fruits all ready (no sugar added).  I cant wait.  YUMMMMM

Re: Potato on day 2

I've found a sugar-free ketchup at the grocery store that's only 5 cal per 2 T and I make oven fries on potato day with that.  Yumm!
