I'm on day 2, and I just can not bring myself to eat the soup anymore!
I know that cabbage is the key ingredient...And I was wondering if it is possible to simply eat the cabbage on it's own, rather than in the soup?
If anyone has any ideas then lety me know please.

I never put the cabbage in the soup I eat the cabbage raw as the soup is slightly [I won't get carried away there lol!] better to stomach!!! I know what you mean though you get to loathe it!
Good luck!

Hi there! New member, about 16 minutes now...
Came here via a yahoo search because I got everything to make the soup tomorrow EXCEPT the Lipton Soup, and didn't feel like going out again tonight, so everyone's recipes helped a lot to keep me home! I'm going to bouillion and spice it up, and it will be fine.
Anyway -- topic -- I know what you mean about the cabbage. I haven't done this diet in years (like 10ish), but I remember being so unable to tolerate it after a while that once I actually was eating salsa out of a jar instead of the soup because I rationalized that the ingredients were the same -- ha!
BUT one thing that does help me is to have the cabbage on the side as others have suggested, or mixed in when I'm heating up each bowl of soup; it seems like the more days the cabbage sits in the soup the more intense and hard to stomach it gets.

hmmmmmmmmm, that's a bit strange cause I have found my soup to always be yummy and I used to hate cabbage. Maybe it's the seasoning I use.
I chuck all the ingrediants into my pot and add
salt
lemon pepper
lemon rind
garlic powder
cilantro
red chili powder
The second time I did the diet I also added 5-6 chopped jalepenos. Not for the weak of stomach let me tell you. LOL.
Good luck!

I love the soup too and I've been doing the diet since Feb. on and off. I use all the suggested ingredients but I also throw in a can of green beans. I also use the cans of stewed tomatoes that have seasonings added to them... there's an italian version, a mexican one and some others. Then I use fresh ground pepper, lite salt, low-sodium beef bouillon, rosemary, thyme, parsley, sage, garlic, onion powder, tabasco, oregano among other things. You'd think I'd be tired of it by now but I'm not. I even eat it on my weeks off so I don't overeat... it's a great appetizer. I don't like the soup if it's over cooked. I like it like I like my noodles... al dente. Maybe I'm just crazy because I just love veggies. What's great is that my one year old daughter loves them too even more than anything else on her plate. Let's see if it sticks, though my 10 y.o. likes 'em quite a bit too.

I am NOT a fan of these veggies, but I am so determined to lose these pesky 15 pounds, that I am willing to do just about anything. You know, deal with it now, before these 15 turn into 30, 40 or 50 pounds.
Anyway, my question is, how much of the veggies do I have to eat that are in the soup?? Am I supposed to get the nutrients and such from the soup itself or do I have to eat the veggies too?? I guess that cooking it and then straining it is out of the question huh?? Guess I'll put some in the blender and just CHUG!
BTW...I am on day one...and this is the first time, in my life that I have ever HAD to go on a diet. Not sure if it was hitting 30 or having that third baby....but the pounds just don't magically "melt away" any more. Wish me luck!
