Banana ice cream!

Slice a banana and put it in the freezer. After an hour (or when it's frozen) put it in the blender along with some skim milk, blend it and it's ready! smiley-clapping

Re: Banana ice cream!

This is a great tip, thanks for sharing!

Note ~ if you let the banana defrost a bit before blending it with the milk you get a great creamy pudding! Add some cinnamon on top and enjoy smiley-wub

Re: Banana ice cream!

Oh, and you can also do it with any other fruit! I tried it yesterday with strawberries (no milk added) and it's great! smiley-clapping

Re: Banana ice cream!

THAT SOUNDS SO GOOD.  I AM CRAVING A BANANA NOW. I FOUND THIS RECIPE TOO, BUT I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE VANILLA, SO IT CAN BE OMITTED.

BANANA MILK
2-3  large bananas
1/2  tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/4  cups skim milk
6  ice cubes

PUT ALL INGREDIENTS IN A BLENDER.  BLEND AND ENJOY!!

Re: Banana ice cream!

I like just peeling a banana and freezing it, then eating it straight out of the freezer. The consistency goes like ice cream and the flavour is intensified. It's an old dieting trick I learned years ago.

You can also cut the banana in half (so you have two short stubby halves, not two long skinny halves like a banana split) and stick a lolly stick into the cut end, then you have two banana ice lollies. You can even dip them in melted chocolate and roll in chopped nuts ... but not on the CSD!

Re: Banana ice cream!

I actually prefer the banana frozen, it seems to be a little creamier for me.  Plus, my blender doesn't chop every little piece of ice and that gets annoying drinking sometimes.  I don't have the most expensive blender so that is probably why.  Try it both ways, I bet you'll like one better than the other.

Re: Banana ice cream!

I am definitely looking forward to the banana ice cream but right now I'm thinking about that baked potato tomorrow lol! well my first day is over ,feeling pretty good about it so far.My soup turned out surprisingly good but I am worried it won't taste as good tomorrow and the rest of the week when it is not freshly made...If not ,I guess I will try blending it. I pigged out on fruit and the soup all day and I am full! the unsweetened cranberry juice is killing me though! so right now I switched to drinking unsweetend tea.not bad with lemon.Hey do you guys know if it is ok to put a little sour cream on the potatoe on day two instead of butter? Which is more fattening?
