Help! Any suggestions for Beef recipes?

I'd love some input on the beef days and any recipe ideas you may have!  Thanks a bunch!

Re: Help! Any suggestions for Beef recipes?

I can cook and LOVE to, but I was thinking of doing that too.  Like buy a pound of leanbeef, thinly sliced and a package of those super sweet grape tomatoes and roll the meat around the tomatoe, with a toothpick and have little canapes all day long!  I just really didn't want to just throw a big steak on the grill because it may cause me to stray and go on a binge, because i do LOVE meat so, I need to watch what I do.  At the Deli I can buy exactly 10 - 20 oz.!

It's just that I was searching in "recipes" thinking it would be more like a cookbook but it' not.  So maybe as I come up with good recipes on my own I will submit them if that's okay?

I am starting to think of some great ideas for tomorrow (day 6), Like beef stew, chili, stir fry, etc.  So we'll see what i come up with! (Yes, I do watch Gordon Ramsey and Curtis Stone and the "Two Fat Ladies"as well as all the American chefs!)

Thanks for the input!  I will do that today since I didn't plan for it in advance!  I'm eating my cabbage soup for breakast and then off to the store!

Lol! I was only joking with you. Your idea with the slices sounds lovely. I do find though by buying it cooked and sliced it means you can be exact on what you are eating. I agree more recipes are needed on this site.

I love Gordon [effing] Ramsey I didn't at first but he's grown on me! Do you get The Naked Chef [Jamie Oliver] over there? he's great too the way he throws it all together. We used to have 2 fat ladies over here but not for a long while now! Isn't one of them dead now? I've not heard of Curtis Stone though!

Re: Help! Any suggestions for Beef recipes?

Oh yes Jamie the naked chef a cutie!   I believe Jennifer of the Two fat ladies died, but if you remember the show, she was always sucking down a drink and puffing on a cigarette, too funny!   Curtis Stone is an Aussie Chef who  lived in England for  8 years as a chef at some of the best restaurants and has a show on here in the US  called "Take Home Chef".  He is a tall, blonde, good looking, 'surfer type dude' who finds women in the supermarket offers to buy all their groceries and go home with them to cook a gormet dinner for her and whoever she was planning on cooking for that night!  What a deal huh?   I know what you mean about Ramsey!  He's so mean, but I think much of it is for the cameras and he's probably a softie at heart.  We have the BBC network here and we love "The "F" Word" and he has a show called "Hell's Kitchen" that is on here about once a year like a series.
As much as we love to watch all the cooking shows, it's hard when you have to eat 'effing' Cabbage Soup as the staple!  Ha, ha!!

Re: Help! Any suggestions for Beef recipes?

Gordon has a new show out here you'll love it it's called kitchen nightmares or something like that look out for it.

Yeah I remember Two Fat Ladies.

Do you remember a chef called The Galloping gourmet He used to slurp wine the whole show and be totally pissed when he served up the final meal, years ago he was! I never watched what he cooked just watch him get drunk. He always ended up flinging the food on the table at the end with yet more wine!!!

At least typing about food and chefs is stopping me eating for the moment lol!

Re: Help! Any suggestions for Beef recipes?

I agree!  it's keeping us out of the kitchen right?
Yes, I've seen the commercials for the new show!  Looks like another show of humiliation and intimidation (love it) as long as it's no me he's yelling at!  If I were a soux chef in his kitchen and he yelled and swore at me like that I would burst into tears!
Of coarse I remember the galloping gourmet I think he must have interned under Julia Child!  What a riot!  She was wasted by the end of the show!  Loved the old gal!

I have this saying on my refridgerator:
" I LOVE TO COOK WITH WINE.....SOMETIMES I EVEN PUT IT IN THE FOOD!"

Re: Help! Any suggestions for Beef recipes?

not really a recipe but an idea....

I ate 4 oz of roast luncheon beef from Bristol Farms for breakfast and then this might have been a no no but I went to Baja Fresh and ordered 3 steak tacos totally plain with nothing on them and threw the tortillas away. I felt "normal" because I went to a restaurant and am pretty darn happy and full! I even gave the cashier the bag of chips back so I wouldn't be tempted smiley-smile
