I posted this before but it's my banana day and I just love this recipe!! It reminds me of something you'd find at Starbucks
5 cubes of frozen Vanilla Chai Tea (look for the Bigelow brand in the tea aisle, one bag will work for a whole ice cube tray)
1/2 c of skim milk
1/2 banana to a whole banana sliced and frozen
dash of cinnamon
dash of nutmeg
Splenda or artificial sweetener (optional)
Mix it up in the blender (I crush up the ice and bananas first and then add everything else). Oh is this good!!

Is the chai tea sugarfree? It's leaf form not liquid? So do you brew it and then freeze it in icecube trays? Sorry for all the questions, but I LOVE Chai tea and usually use the bulk but thought maybe the vanilla type was the type in the quart carton. The cold Chai tea you can get at Starbucks is so good, my husbands all time favorite, but I never get it because it is sooooo fattening!
I have the regular black chai (loose) tea and when I drink it I use the SF/FF Vanilla flavored syrup and a little light soy milk and it is wonderful!
Thank you for that great idea about banana day, that may be the only way I could get through THAT day again! (I love bananas but felt so deprived that day!)

I don't really like bananas, so I'm not looking forward to Day 4 at all. It's actually the consistency of them I dislike, so maybe I'll have to take mine in shakes all day! I am gonna try that chai tea recipe tho....
Sally, you're from the UK, do we get chai tea here? I've never noticed it before.....but then, have I really been looking for it..?
I do love it though - I had some in a cafe in Sydney a couple of years ago when I was visiting my sister. Yum!

The kind I buy is bagged so it's s.f and f.f. I have seen the liquid kind too both s.f. and f.f. in the same aisle. And of course I don't mind the questions. That's what we're all here for.

I used to stay close to home on banana day. But I found my gas and other bowel discomfort was mostly due to the huge volume of bananas and skim milk. I cut back to one or two glasses of skim milk. Danon Vanilla Lowfat Yogurt tastes great with sliced bananas. Or blenderize the yogurt and bananas adding a dash of this or that (nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, mint, allspice, anise, strong coffee, cocoa powder.) You can eat it like pudding, or turn it into a freeze-and-lick treat.
BTW, I get the sense from reading some of the bowel posts, that not just the bananas but the whole diet gives some folks serious stomach issues. Should I be trying to regulate or regularize my BMs? Seems like bowel reactions vary from individual to individual like the amount of sleep you get every night.

I hate bananas and am not a fan of skim milk so I am going to try this out. I don't mind the taste of bananas but I hate the texture. The milk I can stomach and hopefully it won't be too bad of a day.

Yep, the "Light" is fine! The LightSoy milk has only 60 calrories and reg. skim has 90 so it's even better! You have to realze this diet is over 30 years old and they didn't have the products back then that we do now!
I like 8th Continent Light Vanilla! it is awesome for the bananas and I use it in my coffee and in cereal when I have it. I'm not lactose intolerant, just don't like milk. I don't like the "Silk" brand though, to me it tastes like dirt.
Good luck! Unfortunately day 4 was my least favorite day! I may start the CSD again tomorrow and perhaps leave it out and see what happens. Who knows though, when it comes right down to it, I get paranoid to change anything so I may do it verbatum!

warning way too much info!
M.Larry,
mine were all messed up! I was never gassy but I was um...backed up. day three I was fine and everything was going well but then the bananas and meat totally did a number on me and I couldn't go. by day 7 I had eaten so much freaking food I was so bloated I looked pregnant! I had to take two laxatives and then everything was fine. some people have said they needed to take colace while on the CSD. I will do that for sure next time I think or add a bowl of fiber one in the morning like the "new CSD" says.

Just wanted to let you know this also works well with frozen coffee cubes if you're allowing yourself coffee.

Watch out for Silk soymilk...I believe most versions of it contain sugar.

To clarify..Silk soymilk has one variety without added sugar called... unsweetened Silk soymilk...80 calories... 4grams fat. This is the version I use when I low carb...and really have in the house all the time as it creams coffee well and is good on cereal. Now, this brand may have others without added sugar, but I am not aware of it. If I were using it on banana day, I would just keep it to a minimum just use a cup or so...because of the fat it contains...I guess?

Hi Sweetjag... I see that you say you have been on it for 3 months, how do you do that? Do you do it for a week and then take a certain amount of time off, and if so what do you do on that time off? I have so much weight to lose it is not even funny and I need all of the help I can get... I am currently 280lbs., I am only 5ft 2". Thanks for the help... Mochelle

Yep I did one week on and one off sometimes even fewer days off. I actually started on a different version after the first week. I've posted it here http://www.cabbage-soup-diet.com/csd/t1 … -diet.html
I made sure I took a multi-vitamin and did moderate exercise. if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
