I just wanted to say that I like the fact that this diet is a little more realistic as far as expense goes. After looking at all the recipes and making a grocery list I find that this is a lot of stuff that I usually buy anyway. The only difference is maybe a few extra ingredients I wouldn't normally use, leaner beef ,extra fruits and vegetables and cutting out the junk! it' that simple.I might even save a few bucks or it will at least even out just cutting the junk alone!A while back I tried a fat flush diet and I could hardly even get the things I needed for that diet because it was SO expensive! Everything had to be organic and I'm sorry I would love to eat nothing but organic foods and fancy stuff from special health food stores but I just simply cannot afford it!Thats great maybe for a single person who has only themselves to feed but when you have a family to feed that stuff can get very pricey.I hate it that organic food is so expensive!Maybe in a perfect world I could afford to feed my family meats and veggies that aren't chalked full of hormones and chemicals! Or maybe if I lived on a farm!I would like to grow my own fruits and veggies one day. That would be the best way to do it....but for now, off to Wal-mart I go lol

I couldn't agree more. I would love to do the same thing, feed my family and myself with naturally raised, hormone free, ect. foods, but you're right, it is SO expensive. I did a cleanse diet and I'm glad I did it because I lost 8 lbs., but I about went broke doing it. I had to go to a whole foods store and get like gluten free things and dairy free, etc. Some things were good about it though, like it made me more aware of what I'm eating and to try to make better judgements, but these manufacturers really make it hard to eat healthy. Unfortuately I think people with families are all in the same boat, but I just try to do what I can with what I have, but guess where I was earlier today...yep, Walmart. Take care and good luck with the diet. Are you starting your 1st day tomorrow?

I just went shopping for all the ingredients for the soup for myself and my husband and for the first two days of the diet. I ended up spending a little less that what we usually spend on a regular basis, but the food i will be eating is going to be soooo much healtheir than the burgers and fries we are used to. On a weekly basis we usually spent around 280$ a week on fast food for breakfast lunch and dinner. Today we only spent 140. SO half of that. I estimate that we still will spend another 80 on food for the rest of the days. But that is still 60 dollars less than we would normally spend.

Well Today is my first day....so far so good...I'm making the soup right now and I have been eating fruit all day.I'm pretty confident that I can do it! the soup smells pretty good so I think it will be ok. I've been boiling it for about an hour.I'm going to wait until the last 20 minutes or so to add the veggies and cabbage so they don't get to soggy!
