eating a bowl of special K

I am eating a bowl of cereal because the weak feeling was getting worse. I don't care if it is cheating. I'm not eating it because I craved it, I'm concerned about my health and energy level. Like I said I have lost my appetite for anything and I started to feel like I was about to pass out. I have a lot to do today around the house and I can't function feeling that way.I am still going to eat everything else I am supposed to eat today but I needed something solid to not feel sick and weak.Still not giving up.  2 more days (including today) Did anyone else start to feel that way towards the end?

Re: eating a bowl of special K

You are right to adapt the diet if you are feeling unwell and special K is a good way in my opinion! I'm sorry you are not feeling well and as you rightly say your health is more important than your diet. Eat more if you need to you can always leave it at 5 day diet I promise that the diet police won't come and take you away! Are you taking multi vitamins?

Re: eating a bowl of special K

It does allow for cereal but you really need to get one like Fiber One that has the least amount of sugar, is lower in carbs and high in Fiber.  I think I spent about 15 minutes in the cereal aisle choosing the right one.  You'd be suprised at how much sugar is added to some of these bran flakes that don't taste sweet at all.  I do add Splenda to my cereal, though.

Re: eating a bowl of special K

Sweetjag, I'm curious what cereal you ended up getting.  You're so right about the bran flakes and the sugar content.  I usually buy bran flakes, but I noticed I would have to change my brand if I did the new CSD.  Just curious what you bought?  Was it Fiber One?   Thanks for any help.

Re: eating a bowl of special K

Good BikiniKill!  and that is so much better than eating a whole cake or something!  You should try the new version next time, or try the 3DD sometime.
I didn't feel week towards the end, I actually had lots of energy and could hardly sleep at night, but the last day I WAS SO SICK OF IT!   Srry, I know I should try to encourage you but I am just being honest.  I didn't even care about the rice and I wanted normal stuff again, not bad stuff, just something ELSE!

If you figure out how many calories you are consuming a day, even with the cereal, you will find you are way under the norm, so whatever gets you through the day!  A little bite of something extra that keeps you going is better than if you totally give up!

YOU ARE ALMOST THERE!!   YOU CAN DO IT~!

Re: eating a bowl of special K

Yep Fiber One... only 60 calories and net carb 11 g of net carbs.  If you or anyone is wondering what net carbs are, I'll explain.  Take the total number of carbs and minus the dietary fiber which will equal your net carbs.  Basically the carbs from dietary fiber aren't digestable  and don't affect your blood sugar so they don't count.  You can do this with any food you eat.

Re: eating a bowl of special K

I live in SW Missouri so there's a Wally World on every corner!  They're so busy I can't stand to shop there but occasionally.  Every time I visit I feel like I'm on the set of Jerry Springer.  I'm just kidding but occasionally it's true which is ironic because I was born and lived in chicago for 25 years where Jerry's set really is.

Oh and sliced strawberries, bananas or blueberries are divine on top of the cereal on allowed days.

Re: eating a bowl of special K

Well I live near Lebanon in Springfield which is about 45 minutes north of Branson (and I hate country music, go figure).  Funny you should bring up Italian beefs because they are my all time favorite, dipped with hot peppers.  We actually have an authentic Chicago style restaurant here that has beefs.  I treat myself to one every 4 - 6 weeks but not with peppers anymore because there's so much grease in 'em.  Now I just add jalapenos when I get home.

I spent the majority of my life in the Wrigleyville (near Wrigley Field) and the Lincoln Park (near the zoo) areas.  My dad is a Chicago Police detective in the Humboldt Park area.  So yep i was a city girl and still am!

Re: eating a bowl of special K

A girlfriend who has done this diet before told me that you will SLEEP LESS with this diet!  I'm on Day 3 and have already noticed it.  But losing the bloat I was carrying by dropping 3 pounds on the first day has given me huge energy.  However i nearly went crazy trying to survive on Just Vegetables yesterday, and the stupid Baked Potato was a mistake---I didn't drop any weight as a result!  What kind of diet allows a baked potato for crying out loud?  Won't make THAT mistake again.  But this is a diet you can really live with because of the fabulous variety!  If you feel badly it's cause you are DETOXING from sugar and fat and coffee and carbs....just hang in there and it will go away.  If you understand this diet and follow it exactly (maybe except for that potato) you are sure to succeed.  Good luck!

Re: eating a bowl of special K

I ate the potato but it was just a smallish red one and I roasted it with my veggies so it was good but I could live without it too.  Some people love it though and it gets them through day 2 so "whatever gets you through the day"! I always say!

I weighed myself on the morning of day 4 (before the bananas)and was down over 4 pounds!  I agree it is a great incentive!  Just don't do it anymore, like do not weigh in AFTER day 4 or you will be sorry, well Iwas anyway, just try to wait until day 8 when it's finally OVER! Wheew!

I could hardly sleep on it either!  I couldn't believe it, I felt like a total speed freak!  I really is a good way to drop a few pretty fast.  I cant wait to start it again tomorrow (I think).  I can't believe it but I actually MISS that soup!

Good Luck and keep up the good work, you'll do fine

Re: eating a bowl of special K

believe it or not Rice Krispies only have 3g of sugar which is pretty low but the carbs are a bit higher at 11 but 0 fat....but you need to choose what you can eat..that is a 1 1/4 cup serving with milk...I only ate 1/2 cup with some milk just to help me feel better during the day...weak and my head was hurting...

Re: eating a bowl of special K

Excellent idea on the krispies! actually 11 grams of carbs is not bad! On the zone, I am recommened to have about 23 grams each meal. I think the next time I do the diet (just finished yesterday) I will have krispies in the morning! AND rice is better for you than wheat!
