my best friend and I are starting this diet next monday, with running as our excercise. I am a bit scared of how do this diet, but I heard that "the more you eat the more you lose" and I was wondering if that was true because if it was then I will certainly eat more. I also am afraid that I wont lose the weight, but reading all the posts everyone has lost weight. Any feedback will be greatly apprectiated, it will provide strength/confidence for me personally. And I just wanted to say that you all seem so supportive and have a great attitude, and thats wonderful.

I ate as much as I wanted of the "safe" foods. Here is a list, just follow the daily guidlines and you will lose weight. I wouldnt overeat though just eat until you are satisfied of hunger. You can find different recipes for different foods in the recipe section of this forum. Dont be scared it is perfectly healthy and i suggest to put in your spices for the soup into each bowl you do not the whole soup (i just had a mishap last week TOO SPICY) anyways On banana day you will definetely need some recipes so search the topics for banana recipes(search bar is in the original index page on the top)

hope these help you!

I don't believe the more you eat the more you lose, but don't starve yourself or eat until you are too full. One thing that is key to the diet is that you have to eat the soup, at least 2 times in my opinion.
And, whenever you are feeling weak or more susceptible to cravings, just come on to the forum! this place is amazing for getting your mind off of losing hope and getting an motivational kick because you know that all of these great people are doing the same thing with you. there are also great suggestions and recipes, in case you get sick of the soup or something:rolleyes:
Good luck to you and your friend!

First of all, welcome and good luck to you and your friend! This diet definitely does work, and these forums will absolutely help to keep your sanity!
As for your question, I did this diet twice. Once a while ago and once a few weeks ago. Granted, I think my metabolism was a bit higher back then. But the first time I did it I ate tons of soup, absolutely tons of it. The second time I did it I was averaging about 2 bowls a day. The first time I did the diet I lost 10 pounds in a week (and I had less to lose). The second time I did the diet I lost like 3 1/2 pounds in a week. Both times I did it faithfully without cheating, both times without exercise (which isn't the best idea
), the only difference between the two times was my age and the amount of soup I ate.
Hope that helps!

Hi Antelopemu,
Taking that first step means a lot.
I've been on this diet 2 times, and both times I gave up because I don't have the will power. But I did lose 4 pounds the 1st time I did it, I was on day 4. The second time I lost 2 pounds and I was on day 2. The diet does work but you need to stick to it, exercise helps a lot. It may be water you are getting rid of, and if you exercise you sweat so basically you get rid of more water. So keep it up, and good luck to you and your friend. Let us know how you guys are doing.

This diet definitely does work. I did it a couple of weeks ago for my first time. I kept to it religiously and lost 71/2lbs that week. The first 3 days I had 3 bowls of soup. Then it went down to 2 and the last day, 1!

I'm on day 6 and as of yesterday I have lost 4.5 pounds. My hardest day was veggie day but I did find that carrying around a baggie of baby carrots to munch on helped. I also grilled a lot of veggies and steamed spinach (w/lemon for flavoring).
I loved banana and milk day! I found skim milk deluxe, which has added calcium, and I'm ready to switch to that full time now. Mostly I just ate bananas, but that night I blended 2 bananas with crushed ice and milk and found it incredibly satisfying. I also had increased energy and felt better that day. I was sure that I would eat all 8 bananas, but actually ate 6, ate soup and was satisfied.
Just remember to drink lots of water every day and eat as much soup as you can--some days I could only handle 1-2 bowls. I think that the soup tastes better after a couple of days and the flavors have a chance to mingle.
As the days went by my desire for heavier foods diminished. I work p/t in an upscale grocery store, of all places, and had to look at fresh baked breads, a to die for patisserie shop, 14 inch subs, delicious food everywhere, but amazingly I was ok with it all. I just knew that rich foods would feel like lead in my stomach!
Just keep reminding yourself that it's only for 7 days. Do exerciese and keep yourself busy. You can do it!!
