Hi all,
I'm just wondering how many minutes after exercising should you eat?
Thanks in advance!

I don't know if there is a right answer for that question, I think even Dr.'s and such all have different opinions. My husband always ate a little something as soon as he got done. I've read in other places wait an hour. And I've read in other places to eat carbs within a half hour before for energy and proteins within a half hour after to rebuild muscle.
When I was hard core exercising I used to eat an apple a half hour before and a protein shake half hour after. That worked for me.
I guess just listen to your body and do what works for you!

Experts recommend that carbs be eaten 30 minutes to an hour after vigorous exercise since that's when the body will act like a sponge and absorb the nutrients. Some post-workout snacks may include cooked pasta, rice, English muffin, oatmeal or low-fat yogurt.
I found this on a site hope it helps!

Thanks so much for replying. It's very helpful. In the beginning, i just had a cup of tea and half a piece of toast before exercising. But after I waited for 30 minutes, my tummy started rumbling! I will try having some carbs and protein after my exercises
.
Sally, I feel so stupid. You'll know why later
I am very happy you're back, I checked out that wesite, it's.. meh-ish.

Yeah, I don't want to get spammed! Who knows what kind of crazy spammers are floating around here. You better not spam me
.
Meh-ish = boring, hehe. I went there and everything was so blah and extremely disorganised. As you can probably tell, I like things nicely formatted and stuff. No wonder my friends are always stealing my notes.

Now that is funny I thought you'd done a typo and meant me-ish so you liked it not meh-ish [not that I've ever heard of that expression so thanks for the explanation lol!] Yep it seems to be all diet with no humour or personal stuff involved and not chummy like this site!!
Yep you took a risk I'm a mad spammer in disguise trouble is I have nothing to spam you with! I've found geneology sites the worst for spammers! Actually I have never been spammed from this site ever. I had to change my main email account once cos I used to get over a 100 spams every day which makes it hard to sort out the emails you want to read! I went on holiday and came back to 1500 emails eeeek!
Spamming you now!

Sally: you're so cute. I read somewhere that one of the main reasons people keep coming back to places is the relationships they've built. I registered for that site but I will never go back there again. Woah, 1500? yikkkkkes. How did you ever got through it? geez louise.
Anyway, it's going off topic for this thread but I know a way where we can do the chart easily!! I have a tablet, it's one of those, um, how do you explain it. well it's the same as paper and writing tool. Whatever I write on the tablet will show up on the screen. I think that's so much easier than typing and click back and forth. I can try it for week 2 for our progresses.
