Are garbonzo beans and butternut squash OK????

I've been eating roasted garlic hummus dip with carrots from Trader Joes as a snack and I threw some butternut squash in the oven last night with some olive oil, garlic, salt & pepper (it was awesome!). Are these things ok to eat on the diet? I'm on day three and I've lost 2 pounds as of this morning. Thanks!

Re: Are garbonzo beans and butternut squash OK????

Garbonzo beans, no.  Butternut squash, yes. But keep a couple of things in mind.  Squash is a fruit not a vegetable.  I wouldn't recommend eating the squash on the same day as a baked potato.  Not much of a diet considering the carbs involved.

And watch what you put on the squash.  Don't know anything about the dip you were talking about.  I tend to eat the squash on day 3 just because of the uncertainty around it.

Keep in mind that you lose weight on this diet like any other and that is burning off more calories than you consume.  You do it right, you can incorporate the squash.  It is wonderful.

I would leave the hummus out, garbonzo beans, peas and corn are all high in starch and hummus is full of olive oil and tahini all very high in fat

The squash leave off the oil and use some pam
