how about Diet Coke?

What has been other's experience with the amount of caffine one can consume while doing this for the first time? I was up to 5-6 Diet Coke's a day and my body will be going through enough shock without the sugar let alone the caffine. But if I must cut out the caffine for one week I can do that. I think....

Re: how about Diet Coke?

wow Glenn thats a lot of coke, it's really not good for you, even if it is diet.  Once you stop drinking all that caffiene you will lose a lot of weight.  So it's better if you are doing this diet to do it exactly as it states without the caffiene and you will lose a lot of weight.

Glen as a former Diet Coke addict, you can do it I have been soda free for over a year.  Try putting fresh lemon in your water or lime they do help

Re: how about Diet Coke?

I've done a lot of different diets and most of them want you to either limit your caffeine consumption to 1 serving or less. As a dc addict, I' ve learned that it's much easier on my system if I gradually lower the amount of caffeine I drink daily rather than going cold turkey. The times I have tried to go from 5-6 dc's/day to zero I have gotten migraines that my meds won't touch. I have found that I get much less withdrawal if I cut back by 1 dc the first day, 2 the second and am down to zero the third.

I hope this helps.

Re: how about Diet Coke?

If it's the only way you'll stick to the diet then in my opinion, have some, just try to cut back.  Actually in the"new" CSD 1 diet coke a day is allowed so I always have one and I still have coffee (several cups a day)  and yes I agree caffiene is not good for you but when I tried this the first time, I got such a raging headache I couldn't handle it so I put the caffeine back in and I still lost 7 pounds in 7 days!  So whatever will keep you on track is my theroy, we are not all perfect but sticking to the diet with some alterations is better than saying "Screw it"!

Re: how about Diet Coke?

I too drink several cups of coffee everyday. I stop at Dunkin Donuts on my way to work. Its part of my routine. I know that I will have to skip that which will be hard but  cutting out coffee completly would be too difficult so I am planning doing it black with 1/2 package of splenda.

what about the fat free powdered creamer? Do you think that would be terrible?

Has anybody tried it?

Re: how about Diet Coke?

I use either skim milk or light vanilla soy milk.  I think the real thing is better than any of the powdered creamers.  A cup of skim milk a day is allowed on the "new" version.
Go to the blue line above, click on "search" and type in NEW Cabbage Soup Diet and the plan should be on one of the posts.  That's the version I am doing and it makes the whole CSD a lot easier!
