Oil?

Hey folks.

I'm trying out this diet.

Question:  How much oil is 'allowable'.  And are there any types that are recommended over others?  (olive oil, corn, canola, sesame, etc..)

I have a really tasty asian slaw dressing that uses about 2 tsp of oil.  Sesame seed oil, as well as some spicy chili oil (I think the base for it is peanut oil).

A wack of shredded cabbage
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp spicy peanut oil
2-3 tsp Chinese red vinegar
1-2 tsp of toasted sesame seeds

Sometime I'll blitz up a few apples with it as well.  Delicious.

Also, can one substitute the baked potato for some other carb?  Like an equivalent portion of pasta or rice?

Re: Oil?

Oil is not allowed at all. The vinegars are fine, but no oil. Adding fats on a day when no fat is allowed may upset the system of when to add what. You get the fat of the butter on baked potato day and what little fat is in the beef or chicken, but no extra. I really dont know about substituting the rice. Brown rice is full of vitamins you cant get from pasta. Its there for a reason. Trust the system.

Its all mind over matter

I agree with Sweets, trust the system  smiley-biggrin

No oils allowed and no seeds either!  You will make it an entirely different diet. Although what you mentioned sounds tasty, I would skip it and stay true to the diet. You can do  it!

But since you did mention oils, after the diet is over and you are cooking with oils here is some info on it:

Liquid fats are very good for you and can help remove the hard fats from your system. Liquid fats include: (the below are good oils!)

    * Corn Oil
    * Peanut Oil
    * Safflower oil
    * Sunflower Seed Oil

All these liquid fats break down hard fats (animal fats that you may consume). They do this by releasing substances called phospholipids or polyunsaturated fatty acids. These oils wil breakdown the hard, plaque like fats. So liquid fats gives you the fat that your body needs, plus it helps to remove the bad fats that may have been accumulated.

You can find these unsaturated fatty acids in vegetable oils (except coconut and palm oil!! Avoid these two) and also when eating fish, this oil is present.

So, use these oils to replace the hard fat in your diet, because your body needs fat to work and it will give you a positive fat that will cleanse out the bad fat.
