for 1-2-07 starters

here we are... day 4!  hump day!  i feel like if we get through this day it will be downhill from here... looking forward to rice day big time!  since today is the halfway mark, i'm going to treat myself to a great pair of black boots this evening as incentive.

i'm a little worried about tomorrow - meat and tomatoes - since the menu is so restricted and it will be a weekend day with lots more time to think about being hungry!  i'll have to stay busy.  any good recipe ideas out there???

so far, i've noticed that the days are easy and the evenings (starting around 4:30) are really tough.  anyone else feel this way?

just pureed my soup with some milk in the blender to cream it up.  heated it on the stove with lots of crushed red pepper and some salt... delicious.  nice change.  i'm off to have another bowl.

I can bet you that after 4 days of veggies and fruits that the meat will make you feel so full and your hunger will end. If I remember from the last time I did this, one sirloin patty stopped me from being hungry and had to make my self eat a little soup between meals. It takes so much longer to digest meat..I guarantee you, you wont be hungry tomorrow...

thanks for the info.  oh, i hope so.  i feel tired and hungry tonight, and tomorrow is the day that i've been most worried about.  but i've made it this far, i have to finish the week on track!  that is encouraging to hear about the meat.  i big ol' steak does sound pretty satisfying!  something i never usually eat!

I found the meat day the easiest, the bananas and milk was hard and I stir fried the soup ingredients with spices which maybe was a small cheat but I was hungry, also I work from home so the kitchen is always in my face!  The meat day, I definitely did not feel hungry if I wanted to eat it was because I was either bored or just an old habit surfacing.

Day 4,  I have found that my appetite has almost diminished except for the craving for icecream earlier LOL.  I ate 1 banana today and 2 bowls of soup.  I am worried about the weekend too.  I have a celebration to go to tomorrow, I'm not sure what I will eat.  Perhaps I will bring a vegetable tray and just eat that.  As RBTR said "It's all down hill from here".  We can do it ....Stay focused!!

Re: for 1-2-07 starters

Michele, I found that it was really easy to get through the first few days by not eating a whole lot of soup. I had one bowl, or maybe two if I really needed it, but just ate a variety of different fruits on the first day, and tons of different veggies the next. That way, you eat something different all day, stay full, and don't get sick of the soup in the very beginning. Now after 5 days however, you just can help but not want to eat the soup.... try changing it up a bit.

There is a soup that is part of the Sacred Heart Medical diet that I prefer over the cabbage soup.... same diet, different soup, much tastier. You use a large can of herbed tomatoes, a large can of beef broth, a packet of lipton chicken noodle soup mix, about 2 cups of water, 2 oxo packets of beef stock, and lots of veggies... 2 lbs of carrots, 2 green peppers, full stack of celery, 4 green onions, and 2 cand of green beans. Boil everything together over med-high heat for 10 minutes, then med-low simmer until veggies are tender. Add salt, pepper and parsley to taste. This soup works like a charm, and tastes great! It's so thick and hearty you don't need more than a small serving to fill you up. I have lost 6 lbs in four days.
