Hi thought I would let you all know how I have been doing, not that I have been posting much during Feb as we have been doing major renos in our home, (ps I still read the posts almost daily though)however, I am now down 12lbs since 1st Jan when I started my first detox. I probably would have lost the same amount on any good healthy slimming plan but I found that :
firstly going on my csd plan I broke the pattern of binging and starvingand cravings for high fat sugary food which I had been stuffing my face with over Christmas,
secondly I re-thought my ideas on veges and fruit
thirdly my appetite decreased quite a bit
and finally it motivated me to do more excercise after I came off the plan.
However the negative side was that when I came off it, I was inclined to go on a little bit of an eating frenzy, thinking that I could just do the csd again and loose the weight. This habit is what I am trying to break. So between the plan I tried to count points, it worked to a "point" pardon the pun, but I stalled so many times and found myself going over the alloted daily points. I then went back to my group weekly meeting (Tops), they do not push any plan at all but you get the moral support of other people every week plus you face the scales. There is also a little bit of a competition as to who is the best loser that week. I am a competitive person.
On the 1st of every month I re-start the plan or try to in some way.
I started the plan again this week and only got to day 3 before I was wanting to join my husband in a glass of wine, and then I decided like Cabbage Soup Man, to work it to suit myself and my lifestyle as it must be livable and long term. so weekends I allow myself wine, little bit of meat, and during the rest of the week basically stick to veges, fruit, fat free yoghurts, eggs and a little cheese on the veges. Then 1 day a week I can have what I like! pizza, take out etc. One condition is I must excercise every day, I walk 5km x 4 weekly and now have also joined a ladies only gym and do a 30min circuit training 3 x weekly. \trust me after I have worked out or walked and I then go to the grocery store, I am now finding I do not want to go near the sweets or junk food and come out with more fruit and veges. My soup is in a big pot in the fridge and this week it was Thai style and I eat this and a huge packet of baby carrots during the week as well, when I am feeling hungry or just bored.
It is not perfect, but I am pleased with the results and feel more in control. I acknowledge I am going to have bad days and I now just deal with it and not go right off the plan!
I am wondering how the others have done, who also started up end Dec/beg of Jan?

I suggest you take a look at "My Results"
I have lost over 35lbs in 9 weeks!
I lost 33lbs after only 6 weeks... But the weight loss has slowed-down considerably since then
However... I was only 209lbs to begin with... and Im 6ft tall.
I really can't expect to loose much more weight.

Lillia, good job! It's good you have fit things you like/want into this kind of healthy lifestyle. And going to the gym/walking is good for all kinds of things besides just losing weight, it helps your metabolism, gives you better circulation, more energy, and will make your heart stronger. I used to work out a lot, and i noticed after a few months that the foods i would normally eat for breakfast (bacon, cheese omellets, toast and butter basically anything cooked) would make me sick feeling....It got to the point where I could only eat healthy foods for breakfast, like fresh fruit and high fiber cereals (almost always frosted mini wheats!) It seems like the healthier you try to be, the healthier you'll get because your body won't want all the bad foods. - i know that last bit didn't make too much sense lol...but anyhow...Congrats on what your doing! And keep up the work.
P.S. CSM, if you want, i'll give you all my excess weight so you can continue to lose!
