AAAHHHHHH!!!!! Somebody PLEASE help me get back on track with shifting this FAT@!!!! I have been faffing about for the past few weeks yo-yoing between 5 pounds either side of 11 stone. I did so well in February losing 6 pounds on the CSD and have lost 15 pounds since November. I really need to get my head down and just get on with it!!!! I had been doing really well with healthy eating and lots of exercise up to Easter - then the children are at home and I eat for a week - so am in serious need of a detox and a kick-start to losing 16 - 18 pounds/ in the next 7 weeks:eek:. My son's First Communion is then and I REALLY want to look and FEEL well - I am so sick of making do with an outfit for special events - trying to hide that spare tyre and and the the two lumps of beefy back either side of my bra!!!!
Its only a stone and a half I need to lose(don't worry I'm not trying to lose too much too quickly - this is my ultimate goal for July) and I will be so disappointed with myself if I don't do it!!!! ......AND with having to get all the family ready for that day it would be so nice just to slip on a dress and know it looks well on me - I think if I can just focus on that wonderful feeling it would keep me going.
Anyway feeling much calmer now that I have got that little rant off my chest. I wish you all the very best this week and look forward to being 6 pounds lighter and much healthier in seven days. I just want to break the 10.5 stone mark that I haven't seen in two years and I DONT want to be FAT at 40 on the 7th July (my birthday!!
So if you are serious about doing the whole week, please count me in - I really need the support!!!

I'm starting tomorrow also. It will be helpful to see how everyone is doing. I'm at a plateau with my weight, hoping this will jumpstart it again. I'll keep posting my progress, do the same.

Hi there everyone!
I'm also new to this & am so glad to see that there are a few of us starting on 16th April!
I am also wanting to lose a total of 25lb so I am also really pleased that I have the same overall goal as some of you guys starting at the same time!
I have got to the point where I am so bored of complaining that I have put on weight over the last few years, so have decided I must do something about it - so I go into this very motivated!!
I did attempt this diet once last year, however my timing was completely to pot & I ruined it on day 2 by drinking alcohol for my friends birthday - I was so annoyed with myself!
I have chosen to start this week as I don't have any plans which might 'tempt' me to stray, plus I have decided not to broadcast the fact I am doing the cabbage soup diet as I think my friends & family will be harrassing me as to how it's going, which will then remind me that I am 'dieting' & remind me of the things I am going without even more!! (does that sound mad?!) so I am merely saying that I am doing a detox - which isn't actually a lie anyway! (I have high hopes of this diet doing miraculous things for my skin too as I seem to have broken out in a few spots recently!!)
I have not made my soup yet ... I am going shopping early morning & plan to make it as soon as I get back, but I wonder if anyone can help with a question about the lipton soup mix - is it available in the UK? - I know last year when I tried to get some I couldn't see any so I bought a different type - I am hoping I can get the lipton type, as I would hate to get the wrong thing which then affects how much I lose!!!!
If anyone could get back to me asap that would be fab - I know I'm cutting it fine with starting on 16th, but I thought that if I can't get the lipton type in the morning I will get a substitute, make a smaller amount & then hopefully someone might tell me which supermarket stocks it in the UK so I can get some for a second batch!
Anyway, I've probably waffled on for far too long, so I will end now, but not before my final question!! I see that one of my fellow '16th April dieters' has said that they are just having a 3 day break in between before restarting their second week - I was planning one week on & one week off (but being as healthy as poss in the 'week off' - with only one or two glasses of 'treat' wine!! For anyone else that is starting on 16th I just wondered how long are you having off in between before restarting?? To be honest, I'm sure I could manage just a 3 day break before embarking on week 2, however maybe I'd better keep an open mind & see how I feel at the end of week one!!!!!
I look forward to hearing from you all as to how it's going & good luck to everyone joining the 16th April buddy gang!!!! (& of course continued good luck to all those who have already embarked & are doing well with their cabbage soup diets!!)
Speak to you all soon, much love (& soup!!)

Hi
I am starting today as well.
I had a baby in December and lost 3 stone during and just after pregnancy. I felyt great and could fit into normal shop clothes (not outsize)
I have since put on about a stone (still 2 stone less than I was this time last year) but feel horrible and fat.
I am due back at work in 3-4 weeks and would love to lose about 1 1/2 stone.
I find it hard to stick to the diet for 7 days and normally only manage about 5.
If anyone wants to buddy up - give me a shout!
Havent done very well so far today (as yet to make my soup).

Hi!
I have started this today, my soup is currently simmering (although it looks disgusting!)
I want to lose a stone, that is how much weight I have put on in my first year of uni... and my boyfriend has noticed it and delightfully told me! (I could have a man-hating rant here but i wont!)
Anyway I have a holiday coming up and I want to go back to being a curvy 12 rather than a bigger 14!
Good luck to everyone else, lets hope this helps to get the weight moving off in the right direction!

Hello fellow dieters,
How is your day starting (for those of us starting 4/16)??? I had a slice of cantaloupe this morning for breakfast and my soup is simmering. Anxious to try it for lunch. To me the diet seems very doable, but again I'm just starting. Day 5 I might want to be eating my arm off. It's nice to read other posts, especially the ones starting today. Good luck to us all!!!

I'm starting today too! This is my first time but my mother did it and lost weight.
I am 24 yrs old and weigh about 135 lbs (5'6)........I recently gained 10 lbs eating FAST FOOD too much!!
I made the cabbage soup yesterday and it tastes great! So far I have had Grapefruit and strawberries this morning. I heard the hardest day is day 3- bananas.....
I think I can do this no probelm, but I dread the weekends! I have to have a drink!!!! HELP:)

Wendy im right there with you about the drink on the weekend part....that is going to be my biggest challange especially because i have a wedding to go to...so if i make it thru this weekend without a drink it will be a miracle...wish me luck!!! good luck to everyone else starting today:)

Hopeful! I do wish you luck:)
I am going to a big welcome party at a country club on Saturday too! This is my biggest fear! I am thinking I WILL NOT cheat at all this week and I just might have 1 cranberry and vodka drink.....the calorie intake is not too bad!
Hopefully I can make it through this entire diet without cheating. It's day one and I am hungry, bloated, and depressed because i got on the scale!!!
However, there is a boy and a swimsuit motivating me so I think I will stick it out!
Good Luck!

Hiya Everyone!
Great to see theres quite a lot of us starting today - I think it definitely means I'll be more inclined to stick to it with everyone's support!!
Well so far so good!!! - I had a peach at breakfast & strawberries as a snack - I made my soup at lunchtime by the time I got back from the Supermarket - so had a bowl as a late lunch with a cranberry juice.
I was a bit confused at the supermarket as to which cabbage to get - so I bought white & green to be on the safe side! I used green, but does anyone know if it has to be one or the other, does it make a difference?!!
Anyway, it tasted nice (well I'm sure it does at first, the end of the week will be harder I think, but I will try spicing it up differently each day if I start to feel ill at the thought of eating it!!
So I plan to have soup for tea & a grapefruit afterwards - plus drink some more cranberry & water.
I had my first test of strength too - I had to buy my daughter & her friend some sweets as payment for washing my car yesterday! - I got them each a packet of mars caramel eggs, cos they were a bargain sale price ... but I was a little tempted to eat some - I had to put them away out of sight when I got home & I swear I could could hear them calling 'Kerry eat me' through the cupboard door!!!!!
Anyway, hope everyone else is doing well, good luck & I'll speak toyou all soon!

I'm starting today too and I definitely will need the support!! I have to lose 25lbs one way or the other and this looked like a good way to jump start the process. I am worried that my will power won't be very good but I have two weddings in a few months and none my my clothes fit so instead of buying more I decided to try this! I really want to have more energy and get rid of some of the sluggsh aches and pains that come with the stress of the added weight. I'm glad I found the group and I hope we can all support each other!!!
I know the stress about getting through a party or get together alcohol free is going to be hard! I'm worried too - have a benefit dinner to go to on Wed with some fire fighter friends and they like to have a good time!!
Wish everyone luck!!!

Crikey I can see me getting addicted to this forum! Especially as we are all on the same day..
Does anyone know if we can eat baked beans? I really want mushrooms with beans for breakfast tomorrow, but Im determined not to cheat - I wont if you guys dont!!
I weighed 11st4 this morning - that was far too much for me coz I want to be 10st3!
Im really hoping that this will work, Iv made a lovely fruit salad for later...
Im nervous about day 4, Im really not a fan of bananas, so looks like its just soup and milk for me that day, and i know the hunger will have set in by then!

I would really like to hear from someone who started today (April 16) and has stuck with it. I'm very serious about this diet, but I would love to be able to write back in forth with atleast one person to see how they are doing and to note my progress as well. See I'm already thinking progress. Today is not my problem, as I love fruits, but tomorrow is another story. I'm not a fan of just picking up vegetables and going to town on them. I do like my soup though. I made it with the V8 juice and I think it tastes pretty good. Lots of spices in it too. Anyways, please respond if you are as serious as I am because it would be nice to have the support. Thanks and continued luck. Barb

Hi there Barb, all the 16th April starters and everyone else on the CSD. Coming to the end of Day 1 and found that by keeping really busy it kept my mind off any temptations. Haven't felt hungry though as I kept chopped fruit handy for nibbling and heated myself a cup of soup to eat when I felt hungry - I think that it is really important when doing this diet to eats lots (not overeat) of the foods you are allowed for the day and DONT let yourself get hungry as this is a surefire way of heading towards failure. Gallons of iced water sipped through a straw has also helped keep me feeling hydrated and full.
I also called into a couple of clothes shop today- Oh Dear!!! My big spare tyre hung out over the tops of my jeans - I was like a Michelin Man!!!! I tell you this, was a really good motivator and a reminder of how awful I will feel when I am looking for that gorgeous outfit for my son's First Holy Communion (6 weeks), my romantic weekend away (8 weeks), my father in law's 80th birthday (10 weeks) and my 40th birthday 12 weeks!!!:eek:So you see I have all these very important events coming up that I REALLY want to look good at.
I plan to 'go shopping' again later on in the week as a wee reminder of how much I need to lose!!
Bed early tonight I think and another busy day tommorrow. I plan to have chopped veggies ready for nibbling just like todays fruit. If I dont have it ready when the hunger pangs hit I am more likely to reach for a biscuit!! Also as it is veggie day tommorrow a huge veggie stirfry with some chilli or curry powder for flavour should keep me going in the evening!
Anyway, keep it up!! Potato ( the worlds largest ever!) tommorrow - looking forward to it!!

Hi everyone!!
Hope everyones as motivated as ever - I'm sat here at the computer munching on a bag of grapes like a mad woman!! - I look possesed!!!, but I am making the most of this fruit today as I am not really looking forward to tomorrow's veggie day ... except of course for that yummy jacket potato at teatime - I'm just wondering how big is 'big' when they talk about a large potato ... am wondering if I can get one the size of my head!!!!
Veronica117 - thanks for your encouragement, sorry you didn't get chance to start today but even starting in a few days time won't make any difference - have a glass of wine for me tonight please & tell me how it tastes!!!! We both have the 25lb loss target, so you go for it girl & keep letting me know how it goes!!!
CDS2007 - did you start today? Hope it's going well if you did! You too have the same 25lb target as me so would love to hear from you!!
Katl2407 - Your post made me giggle!! ... how rude are men to point out if a woman has gained a few pounds - you really would think they would have more sense!! Anyway, re your question about beans I think I ead somewhere that beans should be avoided - I might be wrong, cos I am new to this, but I was sure I read to avoid beans peas and corn.
Chocolate Lover - Hi! Hope today has gone well for you!! I can't believe there are a few of us all starting on the same day who all have the same 25lb target!!!! I'm sure your night out will be hard, but sure you will manage - hey, I would happily trade in a night out drinking water with a load of fit firefighters for my planned night in with my soup for company!!!
Dawny - great to hear you're restarting with us today & I'm sure you will do fantastically this week! Regarding the soup, I am new to this diet so am not an expert as I have not tried any other varieations yet - I have just made up the basic recipe today & thought I would try to season it in different ways during the week to make a change - there are a lot helpful posts on the forum about soup variations I was reading them yesterday, I know some were flavoured with things like lemongrass & other great sounding variations, so it might be worth a try!
Sinead - hi! Your clothes shopping idea was a great motivator! I was going to do the same today when I went shopping for my ingredients, but decided to put it off until I lose some llbs!! I have enough things in my wardrobe at the moment that don't fit, so I can have that same feeling of spare tyres in my very own home!!! This morning I did try on a pair of gorgeous white diesel jeans I have that I bought a few years ago & I have never been able to get them to fit me properly (& have never been out in them!) I am using this as my motivator - I am determined to get them on this Summer - I have left them hung up on my wardrobe door so I can see them everyday to remind me & I am going to keep trying them on to see if I am closer to getting them to fit!!
Barb - hi! Glad your day went well - I too am worried about veggie day - I have dropped you an email anyway when you get chance to have a look ... keep up the good work - we can do it!!
Hi also to Wendy007, Kazimojo69 Hopeful & anyone else who started today - we can definitely do this with some will power & each other to motivate us ....... 1 day almost down - 6 to go!!!!!!
Anyway, good luck & stay strong!
Lots of love & soup

Hey Kerry,
I've been munching on grapes like crazy also. I've done pretty good today, like you said keeping busy helps. As for the potato, I bought a BIG one. I might eat half for lunch and rest for dinner. I'll probably eat broccoli tomorrow also, I hope too much butter doesn't hurt cause I'll be eating it on my potato also, we'll see. Talk to you tomorrow.

hya barb!
Yes, I've now come to the bottom of my bag of grapes so I think the best thing to do is to have an early night (I usually end up staying up late on the computer) but I think it is easier to resist temptation if I'm asleep - not that there is anything other than fruit, veggies & a massive 'cauldren' of soup in my fridge anyway - I wouldn't be able to fit any treats inthere even if I tried - hey maybe thats why this soup diet is so successful!!
Great idea to split the jacket potato & have it for lunch & dinner - as we both are not looking forward to day 2 due to all those veggies it seems like a great idea - plus I couldn't get a big potato, so had to settle for 2 smaller ones, so that would be pefect to eat one at lunch & one later!
I am a butter lover so it worries me that the amount hasn't been specified - however I usually do my jacket potatoes in the microwave to start with for 5 minutes & then transfer them to the oven for half an hour or so on high so the skins go nice like a 'proper' jacket potato - I have found that having the oven on at a higher temperature (260 / 275) for the same time seems to make the potato a bit soggier inside so I then don't need much butter!! (don't know if this is just my weird oven!) It's great as long as you like the skins of the potato 'well done' which I luuuurve!
Anyway, that's my sad tip said for the night!
Speak to you tomorrow!

HI
My husband and i started today. I would be thrilled to lose 5-10 pounds. THe persistant ones that don't really go! I got confused and ate vegetables with my soup instead of fruit! Oh well. Tomorrow i'll do all vegetables and enjoy a baked potato!
Good luck!
I have to go to a cocktail party on Wednesday - so i'll do my best, and if i need to, extend the diet one day.....
