Hi there. Have you found a buddy yet? I don't have one either. I'm on day 3 and I really feel like I must not be doing the recipe correctly. My soup is so deliscious and every one else seems to complain about the taste. I think I'm eating too much. My first day I had 6 bowls of it. The second day about 5 and today I'm having to cook up another batch. I'm really eating much more soup than I am the other items. I wonder if that is as beneficial. I haven't lost but one pound. |

Hi everyone, I'm starting day one again today too. I did it the week before last, and lasted 3 days before falling off the wagon but I was more mindful of the food I ate after that and ended up losing 2lbs. I have only had the soup today, I will have some fruit with dinner later. I'm so glad to see more people starting now too! My goal is to do it for the full 7 days this round, take 3 days off then do it again, after that I might do 3 days on 3 days off... we'll see... I just got the negative calorie book a couple days ago but haven't had tiime to read it yet, I know I've seen it mentioned on this site. |

Hi Ikirby...that's great :) that you are giving it another go! Just hang in there and commit yourself to one day at a time. Check the forum often as you will build your will power up that way. You will see that none of us are perfect! |

Hi all! |
| lkirby - 2007-09-11 16:18:10 |
Thanks for the welcome back, I am doing good so far on day 2 have only had soup so far. I plan on having a salad for dinner with some more soup, I don't have any potatoes and no time to go to the store to get one but not worried about it, not a big potato fan anyway. This is harder than it was the first round, but I'm more determined to get a jump start on losing weight this time so I am just gonna stick to it. I've been drinking water with lemon all day, and I did have some coffee this morning, I leave my house at 5 a.m. and I don't think I can do it without that at least. But I only had one cup instead of my usual 2 or 3. It helps so much to come to this board and see everyone's posts, really keeps you on track. |

Day 3 now, the scale says I lost a pound which is good, it shows the effort is paying off. I brought cucumbers, carrots and grapes with the soup to work today and have to make a fresh pot of soup tonight for dinner. I only made a small one this time because I only lasted 3 days last attempt and ended up throwing it out and I hate to waste it. So ... making new tonight and will hopefully make it to the end of the week. How is everyone else doing? |
| sunback - 2007-09-12 13:35:22 |
It's Day 3 for me too and going much better than yesterday now that I can have fruit again! I wasn't going to get on the scale until the end of the week, but I couldn't resist this morning and it said I was down 4lbs already! Whoo-hooo!! :) That definitely motivates me to keep going. I know I can do it. I'm just taking it 1 day at a time. It's so hard sometimes though, because I'm home all day with my son and I never realized how much I snacked all day! No wonder I'm fat! ;) Hope everyone's doing good and having a good day! |

I know what you mean, I have never eaten so many ritz crackers, cheezits, lunchables or mac n cheese in my life. I only recently started working again- my son just turned 2 and my daughter is 6 months- and I gained alot since she was born and I was home. Plus ice cream before bed with hubby didn't help yet.. so I know how hard it is to make an adjustment like that. I haven't been exercising because I just don't have time right now to go to the gym but I think next week I am going to work on my schedule a bit to make it happen. I'm sure once I start the weight will come off much quicker. Good job on finishing day 3, that's great! |
| lkirby - 2007-09-13 10:05:27 |
I don't like milk and am not a huge fan of bananas, so I think I'm just going to do day 3 again. Also don't eat beef or fish so will probalbly have a little chicken tomorrow but most likely will just do day 3 again then too lol. Basically for me, it will be day one, day two then day 3 all the way through except on a day when I actually want some meat. |

I, myself would grow very tired of this diet if I did what you plan on doing Ikirby. Myself, I like the changes .....and I really like doing the entire CSD followed by the 3DD....which is 10 days of changes. If you have just a little weight to lose you might be OK with that way of doing it...but....if ya got any REAL amount of weight to lose...I don't believe it will work very well...plus health is an issue...one needs these other nutrients the other days offer for health benefits.... especially if you are going to be on this woe for any length of time.................I guess, whatever works for you....but....possibly....this diet may not be for you.............. |
| nancy_mrn - 2007-09-13 12:40:32 |
Ikirby & Sunback congrats for day 3! |
| lkirby - 2007-09-13 13:50:33 |
Yup I know Nancy, I was a vegetarian for a few years myself and I felt great, I did the soy no meat no dairy thing and I had NO ill health effects. I rarely eat poultry at all, probably just once a week if that and I'm fine. As for the post about this diet not being for me Brooks... hmm thanks for your advice but that's a pretty bold statement to make to someone you don't know, I think I'll agree to disagree. You don't need steak to survive, no matter what my husband seems to think :P And I never said I wouldn't include the grains or soy products or beans on those days. I saw another post of someone who does that, great ideas. |
| Brooksidelady - 2007-09-13 14:41:15 |
Sorry if I offended you Ikirby...yes, if beans or tofu or ff boca burgers and such are included yeah...then it's healthy. I was a vegetarian for about 7 or 8 years...not a vegan though....I ate cheese, milk eggs etc. I was a fat vegetarian because I also ate french fries, potato chips, or snacks in bags, candy, cookies and such. The daily choices on this diet are rather limited in catagories, where as diets like SB for instance have many many choices in catagories and within those catagories...all I meant is that if ya need more choices and it's too hard...a diet such as SB might be more suitable............I never meant to offend....it's just that I'm a person that cuts to the chase....and....it sometimes gets me in trouble..................I will agree to disagree with you....and lets go on from here........... |
| lkirby - 2007-09-13 16:59:21 |
The thing we have in common is that I gained my weight - not the baby weight, the regular old fat weight- from eating junk food too. That's why not having too many choices is good for me, I have no restraint, I'm actually the team leader of the compulsive overeaters group on SparkPeople.com. Limited categories is a plus for me, I don't have to track calories or fat grams and I don't think about what kind of snack I can have later, because if you put a packaged snack in front of me, it won't be enough I guarantee it. Not to say I won't return to some normal diet in the next couple of weeks, I plan to but to jumpstart this works and helps get the sweet and salty urges out of my mind, and to see any weight loss at all helps to keep me motivated. People are different, it seems like you enjoy the variety of changing up your food options, and that's great, boredom is definitely one of the reasons alot of people don't stick to diets. I think point of view is a big difference, I love veggies and even when I'm not dieting will make soups or salads or stir frys just because I like them... and there are so many good veggie recipes out there that it isn't really eating the same things over and over. I've seen some good recipes posted on this site that I hadn't thought of, gonna try some later. |
| Brooksidelady - 2007-09-13 17:28:55 |
Ikirby...well said...point well taken...at this time, SB has too many choices and seems difficult to follow. This plan is easy and one doesn't have to think about it that much............at least, that's how it is for me. I have finished the 7 days of the CSD and have lost 8#...I am on day 2 of the 3DD and it really wasn't all that hard....no books to study or long lists to check...and that's what I like about both diets. |
| kameron10950 - 2007-09-13 18:41:49 |
I have completed a week on the csd and was under the impression you should not countinue for more than 7 days at a time. Do some stay on it longer with out a break in between? I would appreciate some comments. Thanks |
| Brooksidelady - 2007-09-13 19:28:06 |
Ikirby....yes...I do like the days changing to different foods...that's why I choose this diet....also, I like all the foods on the plan, so I knew I wouldn't have a problem with it. The changes are easy to follow and the foods are common, available everywhere...and there are also not alot of rules. My kind of diet! Finished my day 2's food and looking forward to day 3 on my 3DD....I feel that I am still losing as much as when I was on the CSD...will find out when I weigh myself on Saturday...will start the CSD again that day....... |
| Brooksidelady - 2007-09-13 19:47:57 |
kameron20950...Some do it longer. I am because I have a reunion to go to at the end of the month...and I am determined to fit into my outfit. At this point...I am doing the 3DD (3 day diet) and when that's done, I will start the CSD over again....rotating between these 2 diets which become a 10 day run... until that weekend I attend the High School Reunion. This is not a long term diet...I won't do it back to back....but my reunion is only 2 weeks away...I Feel there will be no harm in doing this....The last 10 days beat the previous way I was eating ( pizza, cookies , chips and sandwiches, and I never ate fruit) This diet is a jumpstart diet as much of the bloat one has leaves and clothes fit better and a person feels like going on...that's mainly what I'm interested in for now. After these next few weeks, I may look into the SB diet as this diet is a true life style change. If you have not heard of the 3DD...here is a site where you can check it out..............http://www.everydiet.org/3_day_ diet.htm P.S. Most people would be unable to stay with this diet for a long period of time, as cravings for eggs, cheese, bread etc. would get the best of you...so even if one wanted to stay on the CSD I really don't know how anyone could. The soups good, but not that good to eat for say 2,4, or 6 months1! |
