LOL so I realized after I had already posted that I posted to the wrong forum. So here is my story just copied and pasted to this one.
Hey everyone,
I have been on this diet once before and had lost twenty pounds in two weeks. I had never felt so energized.
Then I slipped into what I like to refer as to recession. Utter loss of all confidence and goals. I gained so much weight that I didn't even realize it until it was too late.
Now I am changing my ways and getting my kickstart with this diet. Can't wait to see the results.
My husband is doing this with me as well. I think it will really motivate me to keep going with it this time.
I have been reading all of your posts and it seems you all are having pretty much good results so I would like to gain some friends and see whats going on with everyone.
Good luck and hope to talk with some of you soon .

Well good luck to you both! This board is great! I have met so many good friends on here. Everyone is so supportive, helpful and pick you up when you are down. Post away on here as many of us have been there, done that and got the Tshirts. You are so lucky that you and your hubby are doing this together as the hardest thing for me is doing all this with a husband who doesn't believe in dieting and loves me the way I am [lol!] and a son who is training to be a chef!!!

I totally understand about the husband thing. My husband loves me just as I am, but he understands that at 245 pounds I am not healthy and I am at risk for so many deseases that runs through my family. He, over time realizes if i don't do something about it I will keep gaining the weight. I too realize this awful fact. I'm sure he will eventually try to get me to eat some ice cream but I will have to stick to my guns. I have seen several of your posts. you seem like a nice woman.
PS. by chance, do you haveany idea how to get the weight tracking bar to work in my signature?

No I don't think you can. I have tried loads of times you can post it though on the main message [let me know if you want to do that as I can help you there]. I'll ask Charito though on our May thread [why don't you join us there] as she is the expert on posting pictures etc. She has taught me all I know so far!

Ok thanks. I saw that may thread, but I wasn't sure if it was for everyone or just the people listed in the little comp you guys have going on. Ill join you there.
Offline
Hey Brittney! I'm not sure about these threads and such, a novice for sure but am planning on starting today or tomorrow as well. I started one asking if anyone would join me and had no replies ! (sniff, sniff) So I went on the May challenge and am here as well because I have a question for you...
How did you loose 20 pounds in 2 weeks? That is so excellent!! Did you follow this diet for 2 weeks in a row? Or did you do it twice and lost 10 lbs. each time? and what did you follow on the OFF weeks?
I really need some motivation and something to work quickly. None of my clothes fit!
Anyway good luck to you and keep us posted with your progress as I'm sure we all could use uplifting results!!

Thanks so much Sally for the warm welcome! I am really excited!! Can you believe it, excited about eating Cabbage Soup? Yep! Got my pot on the stove right now. Of all days to start...Cinco de Mayo! I watch all the cooking shows and today it's all about Mexican food and to make it worse, I live in Arizona so May 5th is quite the day of celebration! No worries though, I found some "Chipotle" flavored bouillon cubes by Knorr at the store and used one of those along with a beef bouillon cube for my soup, so it will be tangy and hopefully I won't feel deprived!
I bought a couple of Mangos and though I would much rather have them in a Margarita, I think they'll be a lovely treat!
So day ONE, here I come!!

MMMM Mexican along with Italian are my favourite foods! lol! Good on you with sticking to your plans despite the temptations around you.
See you on the other side lol!

Hi Twilight, So are you starting tomorrow (5/6)? There are lots of posts you can jump in on. Angellicdelight and I started on the same day (see starting May 4 Previous April 16 CSD), so we are early into it, on Day 2. I go on everybody's posts though, I get inspiration and add my own posts to a lot of them. Keeps me motivated and on track. Everyone is so welcoming and always willing to lend an ear, or hand in this case!!! I don't think I could ever do this on my own, I need this posting for sure. Anyways, I'm sure I'll be in touch and keep us updated. Talk soon. Barb

LOL! We just like posting don't we barb I don't know about you but it stops me eating!!! I also like helping people when I can as I was and still am helped. Mind you I'm not as hot as you on the cooking suggestions as I am a lousy cook! lol!
Offline
Hi Barb! I actually started today! Got up and went to my local Farmer market type store and stocked up! I didn't want to wait another day and was really pumped to get it going! My problem is boredom not hunger so you guys will be seeing me around a lot, like Sally said, "posting stops me from eating!"
Good luck to you all!

Amen to that!!! Seeing what everyone is up to is a definate way to get through this. I don't know Sally, sometimes I feel like I'm so blah with my eating..I keep hearing about all these spices, etc. and there I sit with my chicken breast seasoned with pepper and garlic, very plain.
Twilight-Hope you're having a great day. Day 1 is one of my better days as I love fruit. Keep yourself busy in other ways, I mean beyond posting, like reading a book that you've been meaning to or watch a good movie...I know I relate all those things to food also, like where's the popcorn!!!! You can do it, just remember it's 7 days and it really does help to gain control over your eating. I realize how I don't need to eat while watching TV or whatever. Don't forget to drink a lot of fluids also, juices can really give me a full feeling. Good luck with it all.
Sally-Now, you are on some "off" time aren't you? If so I really hope it's going well and you are able to continue eating healthy. You are really an inspiration to so many, thanks for helping to get us through.
Talk to you all later.

Thanks for the encouragement Barb! I need it! Right now I have a pot of chicken on the stove for my husband for his dinner and it smells sooooo good, but I will be strong, it's only 7 days and today is my first and apparently the easiest one so it's only food, right?
So Brittany, I just read that you did it 2 weeks in a roll and got those great results, how was it for 2 weeks? I would totally be into doing it every OTHER week for sure.
Anyway, good luck! Tomorrow is your first day, yeah! Buy beautiful, exotic fruit and treat yourself! Sometimes I think we all are so hard on ourselves, i know I am for letting myself put on this weight, so the encouragement is really needed! Keep us posted on your progress this time, okay?
Offline
Twilight-I know it's always harder when you still have to cook regular meals for the rest in the household, but I will say I loved my dinner tonight because it was the baked potato. I did put real butter on it and ate it with a wonderful green bean/wax bean/carrot medley and also a side of broccoli. Needless to say, I felt my dinner was better then theirs. Talk to you soon.

Hey twilight,
I actually did the CSD two weeks in a row because I didn't know you were only supposed to do it for one.
I had surgery later that year and after that my digestive system went down the tubes, so I gained it all back plus 50. ( I had lost a total of 50 before that) So I had gotten very discouraged and had a negative body image of myself, but now I am ready to do it again.
My weight right now is 245. I am going to be going to the gym with two friends (for accountability) and I will be sticking straight through with it.
We should keep each other updated on any weight loss or struggles.
As for how i lost the 20 pounds. It was CSD and working out on an eliptical and some strengthening excersizes. That is all.
It wont be as easy now for me because I have a much slower metabolism, but I am not going to get discouraged. I WILL lose this weight.
My goal long term goal weight is 160. My STEP 1 goal weight is 225. What are your goals?
Offline
Whittnie116-Good for you for taking charge, atleast you know the diet works for you. I can relate to a slow metabolism, I feel like I have none at all.
You mentioned earlier that your husband is doing the diet with you, is he still doing it? I hope you two can encourage on another as well as the posts. They are so helpful and encouraging. I couldn't do this without everyone, it's neat to know we all have a common bond and we all want the same thing...to lose weight. Just stay focused and you'll get there. It's good you're working out with some friends too. Much success. I'm just finishing Day 2 (second time around). Wish me luck.
Take care!

Yes I am being fairly good on my time off but hope to start the 3 DD again on Tuesday but I seem to be covered in unexplainable bruises at the moment so think I need to check things out with my doctor first. My metabolism is definately very slow. I had a total hysterectomy last year and have to take various medications which made me put on 2 stone which I have thankfully lost now but I know it will be a struggle to maintain like you wrote I believe previously barb I only have to walk down the cake aisle at the supermarket to put on weight now! I wish I could stop the medication, because I know that is why, but my doctor says no.
Offline
I can relate completely Sally about walking down the aisles, it's hard getting older, you definately put on weight so much easier. I'm glad you're getting things checked out with your doctor regarding your bruises. I sure hope it turns out to be nothing!! As for the meds., atleast their not keeping you from losing weight. I know a few people where they just can't lose because of med., but they have to be on them. When you say DD is that for the Delish Diet (or something like that) that I believe I read about in another post? Just curious. Sounds like you've been doing so well, especially trying to sell your house and all. Good luck with everything. Talk later.

It has been a very hard struggle though barb I can tell you I have been pretty much in one way or another and with the odd blow out been dieting since Christmas!!!! It seems 1000 cal a day is my max if I don't want to put on weight! I am sure I would put on weight with the weight watchers diet from looking at what they are allowed to eat and the calories involved!!!
I mean the three day diet Charito posted on that trio thread I really like it as a change to the CSD which my body has grown accustomed to so my weight loss is not as good on that at the moment. I also managed to lose 1lb a day on that but it is very low calorie!
Well I am hoping the bruises are down to my pernicious anaemia which is usually controlled by injections every 8 weeks as I am also very tired and finding it hard to get out of bed at the moment never mind exercise! Any excuse eh! lol!
We've had 2 offers from different parties this weekend on the house which as yet we haven't accepted but hopefully a bidding war will bring the price up to closer to what we are asking. We just don't want to lose our dream house in Wales where our offer has been accepted so it is very stressful!
Offline
Hey Sally, well definately get it checked out. I also wonder how stress is affecting some of what you are experiencing. Stress can hinder us in ways we don't even realize. It's so hard not to "stress out". I'm glad you're getting offers on your house and I really hope you can work it out to your advantage. It's nice when you can start checking off some of those "To Do" things off your list. We've actually just started looking for property to build a home on so I'm sure I'll be relating to what you've been feeling very soon. Just hang in there and stay well while you're at it.
Weight Watchers doesn't really work for me personally either. I'm more of a protein type, I really have to watch my carbs. Before starting this again for the 2nd time I did a quick 3 day all meat fast. I was hard because it was just meat and hardboiled eggs, but I actually lost 3 pounds, I was surprised. I probably will use it again just to change up my system, mine gets used to the same thing also.
Have a great night and talk to you later.

Hi Sally, Barb, Brittany and everyone! How are you all doing and more importantly, did you make it through the weekend okay?
Brittany - How was your DAY # 1? To me the first day was harder than the second and hopefully each day will get better, so if you made it successfully through day number one, you are on the right track! What's great is that we can start again and again and again and will be pros by then and hopefully we can all meet our goals! (YEAH TEAM!)
I think tomorrow will be my favorite day, veggies AND fruit! That I think I can control ... whereas I'm a little leary of the beef and even bananas, but will do it to the letter, especially this first week. (except for 1 cup of black coffee a day)
Good Luck and stay tuned!

I started yesterday and caved last night when I was making my toddler dinner. I was going to eat mango and decided to eat a 97% fat free hot dog that had 50 calories and 1.5 grams of fat, then I had 5 goldfish crackers.
Today I am back in the game on day 2 but I did lick the knife while making my sons lunch. It had peanut butter on it. I don't know what is wrong with me, I have no willpower I guess.
Offline
Just keep going! If you cave that's cool, tomorrow is another day, start over if you have to. At least they are tiny caves, the thing is they say you have to stick to it exactly, so maybe just start over tomorrow with day 1 and just remember that it's only for 7 days!! Be strong, I know it's hard, but these guys here have done it right? So you can do it too and I sure hope I can! Hang in, you are worth it!
Offline
thanks twilight! I've almost caved a bunch of times today but thankfully I am still going strong! I can't wait for my baked potato tonight. I'm going to a concert tonight that is at a pub...if I can stay on track there I will be GOLDEN!
