I did pretty well yesterday which was day #1. Though for breakfast after a long inventory log my boss and I went out to a mexican restaurant. I did order as best i could. I asked for a half tomato and half avacado (because they are technically fruit right?) and mixed that up and thats what i had. Other than that i stuck straight to the day one guidlines.
Today is day two and I find it way harder than day one. The reason being? I dont like alot of veggies. So i am really limited when it comes to what i am eating. I dont mind the soup and actually think it is pretty good ( i added a pinch of tabasco to mine). But there are only so many veggies i can take. BUT i am sticking with it and not going to cheat. I cant wait until tomorrow when I can have fruits again
. I am craving bananas now because i used to eat a banana smoothie every morning so i cant wait until day 4!
Im going to make a big fruit salad for tomorrow so it lasts all day for me and my husband. I have already made the veggie salad today and it will last until tomorrow.
How is everything going on the CSD for you? your on day three right?

AND OMG I TOTALLY FORGOT I GET A BAKED POTATO TONIGHT!!!!!!! I Love baked potatos. Do you think a baked sweet potato would be alright? I love those more. With some chives...yummy... Im going to steam carrots and green beans for the side dish. Thanks omgirlie for the reminder!

Hi gang!
Today is day 3 and my favorite so far, but then this is my first time so what do I know?
Fruit salad is a great idea, you could make a HUGE batch and snack all day and night!
I went to the store today and got like a half a flat or something (4 pounds) of huge, ripe, gorgeous strawberries for only $3.88 and a bag of red grapes and I am soooooo bloated now, I just couldn't stop eating them, I felt like I had been imprisoned or something and not eaten fruit in 10 years! I'm such a pig! The worst part about the shopping though was right in the middle of my shopping I had to go to the bathroom so badly, and I didn't want to use the restroom there because it may not have been pleasant, if you know what I mean, so you have never seen anyone complete her grocery shopping,and getting home that fast in your life!
Have a great time at the concert Omgirlie! That would do me in...I don't know if I could sit in a pub and NOT drink! Well if you do slip, you'll probably get a major buzz after eating nothing but the soup and veggies for two days! "Cheap Date" indeed! But have a great time, tomorrow is another day!

I was wondering about a sweet potato also. They are so much better for you! I would think it would be okay, you've got to remember that this diet originated YEARS ago, and "Sweet Potatoes" just didn't get the 'air time' really. No one ever ate them except for Thanksgiving. They have the same calorie content but are better for you because of the fiber so I'd say, GO FOR IT!

whittnie! you forgot about the potato? it's been my only saving grace! I am seriously dying here. I've already eaten 3 big bowls of soup. cucumber, carrots and squash. I'm want a strawberry but I'm telling myself potato tonight fruit tomorrow!

if I do cheat which I prolly will I was thinking vodka soda water because vodka is from a potato which was I TECHNICALLY allowed to have tonight and soda water is fine so it wouldn't be *that* bad. lol, see how I rationalize things? no beer for sure and hopefully no voda/soda! I'll check in tomorrow morning!

Hey Girlfriend, I LIKE YOUR THINKING!!
I myself am a "Vodka Girl", but I would NEVER have thought of such a great rationalization! Good for you! When you think about it, tequila comes from the Agave plant right? All jokes aside, Vodka and soda woud be the safest, but I like mine with Orange Juice...with club soda I would need slices of lemons or limes, but it would probably take longer for me to drink since it's not super tastey!

I live in Phoenix, AZ and I go to Albertson's a lot, but I got them at "Sprouts" which is the coolest store which is kind of new here and based out of California.
Mangos are the bomb! But I keep thinking how much better they'd be in a blende with Tequila for a big old MARGARITA! Actually with our favorite Vodka wouldn't be too shabby either! MANGOPOLITAN anyone? Here we go again!! Actually I'm like you and my regular drink is Vodka and OJ. and ofcoarse I buy "Tropicana Light" orange juice to save some calorie!!

Im from san diego cali. I go out to pheniox sometimes (more accurately chandler) my best friends mom lives out there. I have only ever seen one sprouts around where i live. But i have heard more about them than seen. I have never been because it just opened like a couple weeks ago. MMMM mangopolitan! OH god look what you did! Im cooking my sweet potato right now, but I realized that it is the wrong sweet potato. I like the yellow one and i bought the red on.kinda saddened me to be honest. I got all psyched for it. Oh well.
So tell me how much weight are you planning to lose total?
I need to lose about 80-100 to be at a healthy weight for my height and even then ill still be at the TOP part of that weight class. but i carry my weight weird so ill probably only need to lose 70-80.

LOL and i ate it tonight and it wasnt very good. I cheated and added a lil brown sugar (just a lil) i know bad right? oh well i didnt eat much today anyways and i did even eat it all. so i think its alright.
I have always been heavy as well. Its time to be healthy! we will do it together! Woohoo! After this im going to either go on that max plank diet or the 3dd. But on sunday(my first day off the csd) my husband wants to take me to soup plantation so i will go and be good there. then on monday ill be on that. OR i might skip a couple days then get back on the CSD with a twist
i dont know yet. I have so much weight to lose I can afford to do then all!! lol! anyways time for bed for me. ill be on later tomorrow after work.

I have just been reading your posts and laughing I like vodka too and wine and actually anything alcoholic! it is what I miss most when dieting, yes more than the food lol! I've copied some info below and it looks like vodka and a diet drink is probably one of the best bets calorie wise lol! Handy info I thought for when we finish this flipping diet lol!

If you are trying to lose weight, it’s worth bearing in mind that all those pints will be adding plenty of calories at the same time. If you are planning on having a drink or two this weekend, there are a few facts and figures you may want to keep in mind before you hit the pub.
The worst culprit in the drinks cabinet is the ‘black stuff’. A pint of stout will set you back no less than 136 calories (2½ Units), so have two or three of those and the 400 extra calories won’t help your diet one bit.
A slightly better option is a pint of lager – but at 131 calories (2 Units) per pint, the difference really is marginal. Bottles of lager are no better on the calorie front with a bottle of Bud, for example, having 133 calories (2 Units).
Most spirits will give you about 55 calories (½ -1 Unit) per measure in the UK and 77 calories in Northern Ireland and Ireland (1 Unit), where measures are slightly larger. A pub-size mixer will provide you with around 60 calories but swap that tonic for slimline and your G&T has half the calories. Beware of the Bailey’s (or any other cream liqueur), though – a 37g measure provides almost as many calories as a pint of beer at 130 calories (2 Units).
A glass of wine isn’t a bad choice, with a 125ml glass of red or white wine containing around 100 calories (1 Unit). The antioxidants in wine are also thought to be beneficial to heart health. And why not make that unit go further by mixing white wine with sparkling mineral water or soda water to make a spritzer? This is more thirst quenching and slows down your calorie intake.
And what about alcopops? These have around 200 cals per bottle (198 cals in a Bacardi Breezer to around 245 cals in a bottle of Hooch), with the exception of Diet Lemon Bacardi Breezer – a steal at 110 cals.
If you are spending time in the pub this weekend, whatever you drink, try not to succumb to the many bar snacks available. A typical 30g bag of crisps contains over 160 calories and a massive 11g of fat (3 Units), while a small tube of Pringles (50g) certainly isn’t a better option with 285 calories and 20g of fat (5 Units). So are peanuts a good choice?
Although peanuts, and other nuts, are a good source of protein and contain healthy fats, nuts should be used cautiously, replacing instead of adding calories in the diet. A small packet of salted peanuts (25g) provides 150 calories and 13 grams of fat (3 Units) while a tube of dry roasted peanuts (50g) gives you a whopping 295 calories and 25 grams of fat (6 Units). Grab a bag of chips on the way home and you’ll add another 500 calories and 26g of fat (7 Units).
Remember you only have to eat around 3,500 excess calories to gain a pound, so one night ‘on the jar’ will see you well on your way to that beer belly.

I find the wrst thing about drinking is the terrible effect it has on my willpower. It's not so much the calories in the drinks that ruin my diet, it's the kebab on the way home from the pub!

Ah, Paragon. What a giveaway. You're English. I've been living in France for 3 years. In France the kebab shops are run by Algerians, not Turks. The kebabs are chicken, not lamb. They come in a soft bun, not a pitta. With Bearnaise sauce. And chips.

Oh Sally, I miss the drinks the most too! Aren't we awful? That's why I want to devise a diet that is a variation of the "NEW CSD" but for 4 days, M,T,W,TH and the weekend off! Even though I'd rather have a cocktail or wine every night, at least that's a compromise!
I am so pumped already with this diet that because I have lost 4.5 lbs. in 3 days so I think 4 days on (very strict) and 3 days off might work as ong as we don't crazy on the 3 days off! I will still eat veggies and fruit and lower calorie foods but give me a screwdriver too!
Paragon you are so right about the willpower with a buzz. The only good point is sometimes the next morning we might not "remember" what we ate so at least the guilt won't be there! hee hee!

time for my confession....
while I did steer clear of the beer and shots (that I usually have) I had several vodka sodas. not too bad right? WRONG. I didn't eat the burgers or the potato skins or the wings but I did have about 6-10 shoestring fries with ketchup and a little ( I mean LITTLE) nibble of a chicken finger. so hard to say no when you are tipsy!
didn't even bother to weigh myself. I'm back on track today and haven't cheated. I'm so exhausted from last night that know I won't cheat tonight because I'll be in bed by 8!
the hangover is hurting pretty bad today...

Poor Baby! As long as you had fun! hey you only live once! You know it could have been lots worse, like you could have gone on a major binge! Anyway think of how worse of a hangover you would have now if you hadn't eaten those few tiny nibbles? ehh? They probably helped soak up some of that booze!

There's a fine line to walk here. Self-hate can be destructive. But it can be channeled into self-discipline. But each time you slip (and we all slip) you can get into a cycle of self loathing - I'm so weak, I'm so useless, I'll never make it.
What this forum is EXCELLENT for, is that its members help you focus on the things you have achieved, not the small failures.

Back to the sweet potato and the yearning for extra sweetness, instead of straying and using brown sugar or something off the plan, there are SF/FF/Carb Free syrups out there that are awesome! The brands are: "DaVinci and Torani and there are several flavors. I use it in my coffee because even Splenda or Equal has 1< carbs. I put a tiny bit of Vanilla flavor in my banana shakes and I 've used the Irish Creme flavor in my coffee. That could be a solution for more sweetness in the sweet potatoe! Not sure, haven't tried it but those syrups are good to have on hand for anyone watching their weight!

hey every one,
So day three is almost over and it was pretty easy, besides the tummy going insane from not having french fries, but I didnt miss them today. I ate like a queen today lots of veggies and lots of fruit! and two bowls of soup
. I steamed my carrots , greenbeans and onions together for dinner and let me tell you they were SUPERB!I cant wait for day four and eating bananas they have been calling to me from the kitchen counter,
Im going to have a 2 banana smoothie for breakfast, a banana and bowl of soup for lunch. a banana for a snack, dinner will be soup and a guess what??? thats right! a banana. and desert will be two bananas frozen and blended with skim milk and frozen again for ice cream!!! YUM!!
twilight-thats great you are down 4.5 pounds. GREAT JOB!!! Im down to 234 which means ive lost 3 in the last two and a half days. Ive never had a banana foster. I have heard of it but never tried it.
and what are these kabobs everyone keeps talking about. I mean here in cali we have kabobs on skewers not inside any breads or anything...

Ever seen the movie "Fatso"? It's an oldie with Dom Deluise. All these 'chubby' people were in a support group and would talk about food and then they'd go nuts and run out and buy gobs of food and get together and binge all night, and then feel guilty! God, I can so relate to that!
So we won't binge together, we'll just suffer together and loose some weight together, right gang?

So there are several people who want to start again on Monday so that's cool. I am still indifferent as to which way I want to go. If I can for sure loose 7 pounds on the 3DD I will try it with you but i want to find some 'testimonials'. if it's more like3 lbs. I will do the CSD because I think we can do that even the first 3 days. 7 days is so long...I would be happy even with 6 days! i was going to throw the banana day away but now I'm paranoid and don't know what to do. Any ideas on your end? If you are pumped for the 3DD you should go for it. I am curious about it and may try it with you next time if I don't this tie. Regardless I am doing something MONDAY! So there's a new post by Stewart "Monday May 14th" or something that, that you can join in, o maybe by Mon. a new one should be posted because they get so long that it's hard to find what you want.
I can't wait til tomorrow is over and I don't even want brown rice, even though I like it!

I didn't know what you all were talking about with the 3DD but I just searched and figured it out! That's what we call the "hot dog diet" in LA! That's the one I was thinking about doing next week! I did it once before and lost 7 pounds! I gained 2 back right away but that's it. I did one that was slightly different, I'll go grab it and post it. The lunches are what killed me, the dinners I loved and was STUFFED. I wonder if we could eat the dinners for lunch? Hmmmmn.
I can't decide which to do, all I know is that I'm doing something!
