Just a little nervous!

So I have never done this diet or heard anyone go on this diet.  So I don't know if the results are true and if I'm even doing this right.  I'm not a fan of water so is flavored water OK?  I also don't like milk in any way what so ever!  So what can I do about that?  My first day went pretty good I guess because I worked all day.  But I ate kiwi, grapes, apples, and then 3 bowls of the soup.  Is that good?  Now tomorrow is my second day and I like vegetables but my question is, am I allowed to use ranch to dip them in and can I put salad dressing on a salad?  I'm just so confused and unsure of all this.  Can I please get some help, thanks!   smiley-wacko

Re: Just a little nervous!

Ok so some of us have done this before. the first time i did this i lost 20 in two weeks. this time im on day 5 and have so far lost 5 pounds. smiley-smile

TO answer your questions to best my knowledge

No ranch dip with the veggies too high in fat. try steaming them with pepper and herbs they are delish and easier to eat.

No salad dressing try the wishbone spritzers with only ten sprays on a salad. or try some red vinegar on you salads

just keep asking questions and we will answer for you. Hope this helps.

Re: Just a little nervous!

i don't know if this will help, but I love raw food, and discovered a great easy dressing for salads. if you have a blender, put in a sliced yellow pepper, with a little pepper or paprika (i used nutritional yeast too, but i dont know if its allowed on this diet) and then just blend it til really smooth, and drizle. my salt/fat obsessed boyfriend enjoyed it so fingers crossed you might smiley-smile

Re: Just a little nervous!

Thanks for the advice everyone.  Well day 2 SUCKS!  I can't find a way to eat all these vegetables and make them so that they taste good.  I didn't weigh myself at the beginning because I didn't wanna see my weight, I just wanted to flatten out my belly.  And I feel like it's not working, I don't feel any different and I don't see anything different.  Am I doing something wrong???

Re: Just a little nervous!

No, just don't give up!  You are doing fine!  I felt so bloated and fat on day 2 and 3 because I was stuffing myself so much, but all with the legal foods!

I you love salads, make a huge one and use some vinegar.  Put a bunch of ripe tomatoes on it and SALT them.   Salt brings out the liquid in veggies.  I  did that and my huge salad was swimming in juice and I didn't miss the dressing at all!

Fill yourself up on the soup too!   Don't despair, just stick with it, if you have to weigh yourself before day 7 (I had to) do it the morning of day 4 (before the bananas).  I was shocked to see a loss of 4.5 pounds from only 3 days of this diet and that kept me motivated to kee p going, because like you, I felt like it wasn't working and saw no difference, just felt full and bloated!

If you stick with it, it does work, just give i a chance, it's only 7 days out of your life!  Be strong LacheysGirl, you can do it and we are all here to help you and cheer you on!!

GOOD LUCK!

Re: Just a little nervous!

Thank you so much for that boost!  I desperately need it because I'm feeling the way you said, bloated and gaining weight.  I thought we weren't allowed to use salt tho?

Re: Just a little nervous!

You can also chop lettuce into pieces and dip it in soy sauce and vinegar. It tastes great!

Re: Just a little nervous!

I use it!  We use sea salt, which has less sodium and no chemicals and is better for you and tastes better, much weaker.  I have given up so much, I'm not going to give up salt.   They reccommend no coffee but after the banging headache I had on day 1
I decided I had to have coffee and it has not affected my loss whatsoever!

Whatever gets you through the day!

Keep going, you will do fine!

Re: Just a little nervous!

I absolutely love that we can all talk about everything on here.  I never knew any of this stuff.  I had a salad today and for my dressing all I used was a garlic red wine vinegar and pepper with spices.  The vinegar was crazy strong and hard to stomach.  I haven't added salt to anything because I thought we couldn't use, but now that changes everything.  If I would have known about the whole salt thing, then the soy sauce would have been a great addition to the vinegar.  I'm glad I have you guys on here to tell me stuff and give me suggestions!  Also am I allowed to use artificial sweeteners?  Also what oils, if any, are good to use?  Thanks so much again!

Re: Just a little nervous!

This is my first time doing this diet...today's day 4 and I've lost 4 pounds so far. I wasn't sure this was going to work for me...to be at my ideal weight I need to lose 10 pounds totall...but it's working!!

As for a dressing...I love salads so what I did is put some fresh lemon and a little salt and pepper on top and it was GREAT!! Just an idea.

Good luck to you! It's hard, but it's worth it!

Re: Just a little nervous!

I would not use oil but a little lemon and vinegar is fine.  Spices too.  Now on the "NEW" CSD, you are allowed 1 TBLS. low cal salad dressing a day as well as a glass of skim milk OR ff plain yogurt,  unlimied coffee and tea WITH artificial sweetener, and ONE diet coke (or whatever type) a day!  That is the next one I will do!   On this one that you are on and I just completed, I had coffee every day with sweetener and a splash of skim milk in it, vinegar on the salads but no real dressing, but next time I will do the NEW one I was telling you about.  You don't HAVE to have the extras, it's optional, so that's good, cuz at least the choice!

So many people seem to loose 4 pounds after the first 3 days!  Don't weigh yourself until the end now.  It is very encouraging on the start of day 4 to weig yourself and see a loss, but believe me if you weigh yourself tomorrow (after banana day) you will not be happy, so please dn't do it!

It will all be worth it so stay strong and post here often and ask questions.  You will learn so much, get so much support and I bet you will find it much easier to be true to your diet and at the end you will get get results!

Re: Just a little nervous!

Yea I'm hoping I'll see something happen after tomorrow (day 4) because I haven't seen or felt anything happen yet and it's quite discouraging.  I keep stuffing myself with veggies and water while fitting room in for the soup.  But it's hard, I just feel fat and like I'm gaining weight.  It's kinda scaring me.  So hopefully after day 4 I'll get to see what everyone else is talking about.  I used the lemon and vinegar on my salad and it was great, thanks for the tip!  I'm gonna try the soy sauce and vinegar next, maybe make a veggie stir-fry tonight.

Re: Just a little nervous!

For some reason Rice Wine Vinegar is much more mild and easier to handle.

Also you said you hate milk.  Well I am not a fan of it either (except on cereal or in coffee) but on day 4 it says  "UP TO 8 GLASSES", (not that you have to drink 8)  I did 3 and each time did it in the blender with bananas, some SF Vanilla syrup (0 Calorie) or equal or splenda would work, and that's how I got the milk in.   I can't ust sit there and slam down glasses of milk, YUCK!  So just blend it with your bananas and check out some of the other ideas that people here have for banana day and you should do fine.

Good Luck, the worst is over! (almost)

Re: Just a little nervous!

I ate LOTS!  I made 4 batches of it for the7 days!  I would have about 6 bowls a day, even when I wasn't hungry,  I just keep eating it, maybe out of boredom, because I always feel like eating!  But it kept me s full and kept me friom cheating!  and I like the soup a lot so I am lucky!.

Re: Just a little nervous!

Well maybe that explains me not losing the weight then.  I've only had 3 the first day, and 2 bowls on the second and third day.  I only have been able to eat one today but I'm about to go eat another one.  I have a hard time eating so much soup cuz I'm a waitress and I work long hours so I only get to eat before and after I work.  So it doesn't leave me much time to eat it. :-(  I'm so scared that I'm not gonna lose the weight because of this.  The end of tonight is the end of my day 4 and I haven't seen any results yet.  I'm terrified because everyone said they seen the results after day 4 and I still haven't.  This sucks  :'(

Re: Just a little nervous!

Just keep going sweetie and don't worry about it, the week will be over before you know it and I'm sure you will see some results!  It is at least wrth a try, right?
You should be just fine with the amount of oup you're eating.  There's a guy who lost a bunc of weight on the diet and had no soup at all!  You can look it up, it is a thread entitled soething like: Do you really HAVE to eat the soup/  or something like that, but it is quite encouraging!

Don't give up, you are almost there!  Hang in there!

Re: Just a little nervous!

I'm trying so hard.  I have never been on a diet before and for me not to eat all day, everyday is driving me nuts!  Plus not eating what I want is making me mad, sad, everything.  Not seeing results is making it even more frustrating.  My birthday is on Thursday and I have this really nice, tight fitting dress that I'm supposed to wear for dinner.  That's why I planned this diet so that I could end on Wednesday and be ready by Thursday.  But my belly doesn't seem to be going down any and it's scaring crap outta me cuz I may not be able to wear that nice expensive dress I bought.  I dunno, maybe the stress isn't helping my weight loss.  Thanks for the support, you're awesome!
