Hi guys
I have just joined today and i love the fact that everyones so supportive of each other. I am on day one and finding it ok so far, apart from going to the loo every 5 mins with all this fruit and water.
I am 5ft 5 and weigh 12.10. I have always been teased about my weight and am very self-concious, I find it hard going to the gym as I think people are staring at me so I have bought a bike and am going to go out at night a few times a week.
Would anyone like to share their weight losses with me since starting this 7 day diet?
thanks. X

Hi Sally
Thank you for your reply, I am determined to stick to this diet and have been dreading the banana day but I have found some recipes for the shakes and now I can't wait so I feel like its the motivation I need to keep going.
Can I just ask, dont you dread going back on it after the 2 weeks? I think that'll be the hardest part for me
Thanks again. x

Absolutely!!!!
You bet it gets harder everytime I have to say the first time is the easiest, but nothing else but this diet works for me so I suffer lol!

Hi MCL,
I'm 5'7". I weighed 196 pounds before my first round...lost 7 pounds. (I'm rounding all numbers, it was actually 6.8...)
Gained 3 back. (in 4 days! quite a bender I went on...it was Memorial Day weekend!)
Weighed 192 before my second round...lost 3 pounds.
So net after about 2.5 weeks...7 pounds and I'm at 189 today.
I plan to start CSD again next week after a week's break.
Twilight, I know I said in another thread that I'd start again with you on Monday, but I foolishly forgot that my birthday is Tuesday, so I might as well wait until AFTER that, right?! Duh. I'll probably start Wednesday or Thursday. However, I like to have beef days on the weekend, so that won't work. Maybe I'll do 3DD Wed-Fri, take a 3-day break, then start the following Tuesday on CSD so that day 5 and 6 fall on the weekend.
Isn't it crazy how we plan our lives around food? And drink, of course! I think I'll be on the Party Girl Diet from tomorrow through Tuesday!!

That's fine whatever, Happy Birthday!! I'm really not sure either, I may try to do it just during the week or 4 days a week, like day 1, 2, 3, or just day 3 over and over. Who knows, but I do not want to gain everything back like I did last month because of all my binges and partying! (Mem. day weekend was a killer for me too! Mostly since it went for a week and a half!!)
Okay and to answer your question MCL82, I did the Cabbage Soup diet for 7 days and lost 7 pounds. Unfortunately I went crazy when I went off it and gained most of it back, then did the 3 day diet, and lost only about 1.5 pounds, and went off and went crazy again. So I am on my 4th day of the CSD (but doing day 3 again instead of the bananas) and I will report my loss when I'm done. But if you are going to do i for the first time and stick to it without cheatng, I think you can lose at least 7 pounds in 1 week! It seems to decrease each time you do it, but even 2 or3 pounds lost a week is better than nothing or gaining weight! So good luck!

MCL82 -
Week1 - 9lb
Week2 - 5lb
Week3 . . . . .
I'm on Day 1 too. I hate Day2. veggies only!! no fruit!! what a drag.
I like being on the diet. I'm a bit of a martyr. I like it when my stomach starts to complain from hunger. If I'm just a little bit peckish, I might snack, but if I'm REALLY hungry, the hunger becomes like a real thing, that I can withstand. hunger becomes like a constant companion. As long as I can feel that gnawing I can envisage the fat burning off. Is that weird?

I am so bumming
In the past I've lost between 11 lbs.... I was so hopeing for 7lbs this time but I'm on day 7 and its only been 3 days. I have been working out and walking the dog and only 3lb. I am so so so sad and discouraged.. I know I know look at the bright side 3 lbs. grrr
Offline
Don't despair Beachy! If you look back at other peoples results, it always decreases after the first time! 3 pounds almost seems the norm! I know it's discouraging because we all want amazing results after all the sacrifies we've made, but don't worry, 3 is better than nothing and I know I should be extra encouraging to you, but I understand how you feel, because it IS a lot of hard work and we give up so much so I totally can relate to how you feel and if I lose 3 pounds after 7 days I know it's fine, better than nothing, better than gaining, but to be honest I will be pissed too! So hang in there and I am so sorry you're bummed out about it, anyway you are on day 7 right? Wait til tomorrow, they say to wait until the end, who knows what will happen just don't give up! Just think at WW the average is 1 - 2 pounds per week! That seems so slow and it IS and you have to be patient but it's easier to keep it off if it comes off more slowly! Just don't be discouraged and undo everything you've done so far! (like I did
) You are worth more than that!
You did great so don't beat yourself up! and when you celebrate with those Jello shots...make sure you use sugar free jello!!

Hey Beachy! Get off the pitty party wagon! YOU LOST THREE POUNDS!!
That is awesome!! Seriously, please do not be discouraged. I went through the same thing yesterday, though, I must say. But now this means we really are kindred spirits...we both lost three pounds on this round. Yay us!!!
Stew, I TOTALLY know what you mean about hunger. That is not weird at all. I've even told my husband that I like feeling hungry during the diet. Like it makes me think that rumbling is actually the fat trying to get out of my tummy!!! And it is a bit martyr-ish, but somehow it's a good feeling. If I'm this hungry, I MUST be losing weight, right?!
I do not want to do any work right now, but my boss has come out of his office three times in the last hour while I'm typing away...on the CSD forum! So I better do SOMETHING!!!

Thanks twilight and maid I needed that
So by WW standards I should be off to Europe in 5 months. hehehe
What I am most thankful for this round was that I actually paid attention to what I ate. Like I now realize I CAN make a meal of just veggies. And that they aren't just side dishes put there just for color.

started the diet on monday, this is day 4, bananas and skim milk, mmmmm....so far have lost 6 lbs, my goal is 11, over halfway there!!!! can honestly say, it has not been easy, i have felt hungry all the time, not to mention the potty breaks, but i keep saying it is well worth it to go through all this for a week, not sure if i could do it again, but if i had to, i would cause the results are worth every bit of it...

Sharley, you have done great! Wow, i don't know if I've ever heard stats that good after just 3 days! You shouldn't be hungy all the time, when you are just eat more soup! I am so stuffed while on this diet, UNLIMITED veggies one day, pounds of fruit, all the soup you can eat! I have never "dieted" and been so full! So really, if you are hungry just eat more of the allowed food, otherwise you may start craving something else and cave!
God luck and 6 lbs. is good for the whole week, let alone half way through so don't be discouraged if you don't hit 11, that is almost unheard of, just keep plugging away and you will do great!!

Hi Everyone
I just wanted to say thanks for all your replies, I am on day 2 and found salad for breakfast very difficult but thanks to your words of encouragement I am determined to keep going and not to cheat cos in the end I'm only cheating myself.
I am looking forward to day 3 where I can mix the veggies with fruit, I think that's a good sign that I'm looking ahead to the next day without dread.
I am a bit worried about the beef days and I am a vegetarian (although I do eat fish) but it says not to substitute beef with fish both days, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can have instead of the beef???
Thanks x

Hello Everyone! Firstly, thanks to all for support messages - it's great to read through the mesages and get motivation from people in the same situation
I started my 1st week of the diet at 150 lbs and lost an amazing 7 lbs - I felt fantastic and after seeing the results so quickly I knew that after day 7 I would eat real healthy foods so as not to gain any weight.
I took a break of 5 days before starting my 2nd round of the diet, I'm currently on day 6 and again feel great, I have more energy and never feel hungry! As of today I have lost an additional 2 lbs which I think is great. I just wanted to let others know that your biggest weight loss will be on the 1st time you try this diet. If you are able to lose 2 - 3 lbs per week after this then this is a great result. Please don't be put off by this as on other diets, you'll have to work a lot harder to lose 2 - 3 lbs in one week.
I feel thought that I must confess too! I just ate 3 spoonfuls of vanilla ice cream - naughty me
But I'll make it up tonight by eating lots of soup.
Good luck to everyone on this diet plan and thanks again for all the support.

MC-yes you can have fish. There have been some Vegans as well and have substituted Tofu. I know i have sai this before but this diet has been around for YEARS and there were few Vegans back then and little talk of the "evils" of red meat. In the newer version of this diet the protien of choice is fish or chicken. So don't worry about it, you don't have to have beef, just a good pure protein and lots of tomatoes!
Skye-good job! Very dedicated and yes I agree the first time is the best for sure! The thing is that for me, this is so easy to remember and the ingrediants are eas to keep on hand. When I did the 3 day diet, I had to go out and buy ice cream, hot dogs, peanut butter, bread, etc!! All the foods I don't like having around!! My "Red Light" foods! Fruit and veggies are much easiler! This time however I did not do day 4, I just did day 3 again, and today I am going to also and tomorrow will eat the meat, so atleast I can enjoy a normal meal with my husband! Hopefully it will be okay to switch it up a bit and make the diet work for each of us, but we'll see!
You don't HAVE to have salad for breakfast you know, try to be create so it will be more enjoyable to you! Right now I am roasting a butternut squash for my breakfast!
Good luck!

Twilight- Thank you for your comment I'm in scotland so theres a bit of a difference in time between us. Your butternut squash idea sounds good I might give that a go next time. I will try the fish as I love it and I think by the end of this I will be desperate for some meat.
Thank you.xx

Hello!
Today is my second day on the diet. It's difficult running to the bathroom all the time, with all of these watery foods.
I don't mind the taste of the soup - it's actually quite good! I'm not looking forward to the bananas, though, as they usually give me indigestion and heartburn.
I just hope that if I lose weight that I won't gain it all back after the 7 days. Maybe I'll have to just take a few days off and then go back on it.
I find finding the time to make the soup difficult - wish I could just buy it!
I'm feeling kind of sick today - I wonder if it could be the toxins leaving the body? Would this happen this fast? I don't know???
As far as the fats on meats are concerned, I think we have to cut all of this off, as this is a low fat diet.
Does anyone know if it's ok to have a few cups of black coffee? I've had two cups both days

I have coffee every day, I even use Equal and skim milk. Yes, the leanest meat possible is preferred. and yes, I think you could definately be ridding your body of toxins by the second day. lots of people complain about headaches and some nausea though I got rid of my headache with coffee and just eat more legal food if feeling weird.
This time I skipped banana day because I think it hindered my loss last time. I'm not saying for you to do that because I'm no expert, but this time I just did day 3 again and for me, I think it will work the best and what we want to a reasonable diet that will work for us and fit into our lifestyles, right?
So good luck to you and keep us posted!

Hi All!
I am new to the website but find so much inspiration reading the forum... I am a 5-6" chef and on monday (june 4th) weighed in at 198... too close to the 200 mark for comfort, plus my blood pressure spiked every time i ate junk food!
I am on day 5 of the diet (just had a trimmed 8oz sirloin with a side of tomatoes! YUM)
So far i have lost 8 lbs and my blood pressure is normal!
I survived banana day with the skim milk shakes, and am currently going through diet coke withdrawl! (what a migraine! my eye sockets hurt!!) My favorite day was day 3!
But its worth it !! I feel great, especially after a daily 1/2 hr treamill torture.
I'll try and join one of the future monthly!
