Hi Everyone!
This is my first time trying the cbs diet. I'm on banana day, not too sure how I feel about eating bananas all day, but I'll give it a shot. I've lost 3 lbs so far. Does any know the science behind this diet, if any.

Hi Kristi, I don't think theres any science behind this diet. It's just the way you eat, you lose water and all the toxic waste thats in your body. After the diet if you start eating bad again you gain it all back and probably more since it's just water you lost. All I know is this diet is great and everytime I do it I lose weight. Congrats on losing 3lbs, you will lose probably more by the end of day 7. Good luck

Hello Everyone,
maybe its my age 48 but I am extremley cranky on this diet
when I did it 6 years ago I felt wonderful but I don't think I drank so much wine then:blink:
now on my 2nd week and finishing off day 3 and dreading the banana day as I am always hungry on it but need a change.
I will have to get down the gym too as I am sure that will help

Annyalla, I am at the same age it is just tough at our age is against us
we just have to work twice as hard as the rest.
I am giving myself a break from last week and taking a week off doing SB instead, don't know if I will lose any more but if I don't I will be happy to maintain

Good Morning!! Well I made it through banana day, it actually wasn't too bad, although at 9;30 last night I was starving so I called it an early night for everyone and just went to bed. I'm down 6 lbs now. I've put my husband on the diet too since I'm on holidays and taking over the cooking for the week:) No he's not very happy!!!!LOL
We are going camping this weekend I know there will be some drinking involved, I'll just have to watch it. Then we are going to start the Slim in Six series after the long weekend. Has anyone heard of this? We did it once before successfully, but after 3 yrs the weight snuck back on.
Have a good day,
Kristi

I am also taking a break from the csd this week. I watch what I eat particularly I have not reintroduced carbs in my diet except for waffles in the morning. I do not snack at all and try to get the most calories for breakfast and lunch and have just a very light diner. I kept away from alcohol too. My weight loss seems to be on the same trend as during the csd week.
It's good news and I hope it can help all of you on the csd week to keep on track with the plan.
7 lbs down so far in 10 days!
Good luck to all

Just had some lunch a bowl of baked chicken with cherry tomatoes. YUM! Even my husband enjoyed it.
The Slim in Six series is a set of 5 dvds where you slowly introduce a work out, the 1st week is very a low impact for 30mins, the 2nd week is 45 mins, and once you build up your strength the last video is about 55 mins the other videos are just 10 mins each if you don't have time. Three years ago when I did it, in six weeks I lost 25 lbs! But three years later I've just about put all the weight back on, for no other reason than I stopped speed walking and wasn't too careful with my food choices, and weekend drinking!
I'm going to keep on this site because I really like the support and I think I will try and do the soup diet once a month to keep on track, although I may modify the soup a bit.
I think the SIS still has a web site at beachbody.com, if anyone is curious.
Got to go cut the grass now, YIPEE!!
Talk to you soon

Good job secotine about watching what you eat, it is not for me so much anymore since I did the csd two weeks out of 4 in the month of august. I am doing sb diet this week, I am doing phase one and gained a pound this morning don't know how that happened since I still have not introduced complex carbs back in my diet. I eat, egg subsitute, all the veggies I want and a small about of protien (turkey, chicken or shellfish) guess I have a wierd body.
Thanks krisi for letting us know what the six series was. I know I should be moving but I hurt my back and it really prevents me from doing a great deal right now. I just stretch and take it slow
today I have had a small veggie quiche (egg beaters, spinach, onion, & Pepper) 6 deli lunch meat turkey slices, 2 lettuce leaf's, and sugar free jello. for lunch it is sb meatless pizza (ground turkey, 1/4 c fat free mozzrella, two slices candian bacon and 1/4 speggie sauce) tonight stir fry veggies then bed....how can I gain weight?????

Annyalla you are doing wonderul, it takes a lot to hang in there this long!. I have never had my gums swell because of a diet. I have heard of it when dieting for long term or eating very poor diet long term. You may have just irratated them with acid in a food.
SB diet is short for South Beach diet. You don't watch calores on this diet either it has three phases, the first is the most restictive and you do it for 2 weeks. You eat meat, eggs and cheese along with a min of 2 1/2 cups veggies a day. no bread, rice, pasta and never any alchohol (darn it-- I do miss my wine) Anyway after doing a week on csd this has been a breeze to stick to. Has some great recipes I am trying some I like others I will never try again.
It is also easier for me to take food to work. You must eat 5 meals a day plus they encourge a desert at the end of the day. I lost a pound the first two days but gained it back this morning, but I think because it is almost --that time-- and I was up all night with cramps and running to the bathroom had something to do with it. (Although you would have thought I would have lost another pound?) Anyway I will stick with it for two weeks then go back to csd for another 7.
wow was I long winded

Hey all! It sounds like everybody is on track. Good Job!
Nancy, I think you are right as to where that pound came from. I seem to be on a similar schedule and gained 4 - and I blame at least 2-3 of them on that!!
I planned on starting Monday, but I will be out of town. So I dont know if I will just start up on Tuesday with day 2 or what.... hmm.
Have a wonderful, healthy weekend everybody!

Nancy
i have noticed that every diet that would make me have a snack in the morning and one in the afternoon or more than 3 meals would make me gain weight no matter how many calories I would eat. I guess we have a similar metabolism. Maybe if you stick to 3 meals a day it will help.
Let me know

Hi all,
Had a good day must have needed the protein had lots of chicken and feel better for it but no weight loss today but gained none either
On day 7 is it still brown rice and fruit juice ?
Offline
Rachie, have a great weekend too
secotine, it must have been just one of the fluctuating days because I am down two pounds now.... so for this week a loss of two pounds (not what I expected but I will take it) just missed my 10 pounds for the month by 1 pound
the snacks I have are all low cal veggies, celery, radish and cucumber so those I consider freebies with fiber!
Annyalla great job on staying focused!

Hello everyone,
The site seems a bit quite. Tried to get in on saturday but no luck.
Anyway on day 7 now and pleased with my weight loss of 5 lbs. Need some help here do I have a break or go straight back to day 1 ? I do know it recommends a break but I am worried I may not go back on it again
Offline
annyalla,
I would give yourself at least a week break, just watch what you eat, stay away from bread, rice, pasta and alchohol then start over.
keep raw veggies around to munch on, have a little protien for lunch or dinner. Try some scrambled eggs (egg beaters) with onions and peppers for breakfast.
I did the south beach on my off week and lost another 4 pounds and I find it simialr to csd without the soup but you could certainaly eat it...breakfast one protien and 1/2 c veggie, lunch a protien and 2 cup veggies same with dinner and snack either a small protien or a bunch of veggies
good luck to you and keep us posted how the off week goes

Hey y'all! Well, I did lose 2 more lbs. this week....but not because i stuck to the diet.
I stayed on the diet for 2 days, then on Wednesday, I had an unfortunate accident....I twisted my ankle reeeeaally bad
So I was not able to go to the store. I did stay away from bread, and junk food things. I thought I might have broken my ankle because it was so swollen and blue and purple, but the doc took x-rays and nothings is broken Thank God! So, I have had to try to stay off of it for a few days...kind of hard to do that with 3 boys! Oh well, I'll mend. I am going to make some soup this evening....back on diet tomorrow!! I am determined!
Guess I'll get off here and go find my ice pack
