I am very curious to find out how much people lost in a week. I love this discussion forum, and have been on it several times a day since I started on Monday. I find it very encouraging and love all the support from everyone.

So, when you are done your 7 days, let me know what the results were. Good Luck!
I will post mine on Monday morning.

Well, so far I started Monday but weighed in on Sunday. Today, I was down 3 pounds. I may not lose anymore this week as I usually lose the first 3 days. Although, I am certainly hoping to lose more.

I found the same thing. In the first 3 days I lost 2 kg (which is about 4.4 pounds) and now on the morning of day 7 I have lost another .5kg (about another pound). Was hoping for a bit more - but will start again next Tuesday.

I haven't noticed my clothes fitting much different yet - but usually it takes a few days after I finish to see that.

I am on Day 6, following the new version of the diet (with the rice day). I have lost about six pounds. (I did cheat and had two glasses of wine during the week to celebrate my four-month wedding anniversary...!)

I am going to try to stay on it for another couple of weeks until Thanksgiving.

Worth noting, I tried Atkins but I just didn't feel healthy. I found I really missed vegetables. I didn't cheat but still lost only four pounds in the two weeks I was on it.

So I find this progress encouraging after six days! But I am finding I need to change the soup a bit from batch to batch so that I don't get bored with it.

My story: I gained nearly 15 pounds going to culinary school for the past year, and another 10 since I got married this summer. In September, I suffered an injury that limited my exercise for eight weeks, which didn't help. I couldn't even walk very far.

(Of course, all this cooking for my husband could be doing it!)

So I am back at the gym now and hoping to get rid of this weight by New Year's -- and try to be good over the holidays!

I am glad I stumbled across this forum! There are a lot of nice people on here. I'll try to share some culinary tricks where I can!

- Kathy

Just completed day 5 and as of this AM have lost about 4 pounds. I feel full right now after eating all the protein, but I agree with you Kat, this is so much better than Atkins. Can't help believing that fruits and veggies are great for you!

I live near Seattle in Gig Harbor and had gained 10 pounds since July when my daughter got married. Nothing fit and I just needed something to get me going. I would love to lose 15 and am planning on getting my husband to try CSD too!

Just realized that you said you got married 4 months ago...My daughter was married on 7/31 in Kirkland, very close to your wedding date, Kat. Happy Anniversary!

The last time I did this diet was a few weeks ago and I did two back-to-back weeks. I lost 4 lbs the first week, but only 2 lbs the second week. I took 2 weeks off and now I'm back for another go at it. This time I'm hoping for another 4 lb loss.

Hmmm, did you all not have very much to lose total? This seems somewhat discouraging. I want to lose between 34 and 49 lbs and I know that the more you have to lose, generally the more drastic the results are. I started the diet last week and lost 7 lbs the first day which I kept off despite cheating due to the holiday. I am starting it again today and I am really hoping for similar results.

From all that I read it really depends on the person and the amount that they have to lose as to what the results will be from week to week. Even if you don't lose another 7lbs. in the second week that is not to determine what your third or fourth week loss will be. I saw just yesterday were a nutritionist says that it takes the body three weeks to really react to a diet change in a way that will be more of a tell tale on what your loss will be. Hopefully that made sense. If not just stay encouraged because your change is coming (-:

In response to desperatelyseekingslim, I didn't have as much to weight to lose as some other folks. I had my second child a year ago and was having trouble losing the extra weight. When I started this diet I had 25 lbs to lose, now I have about 18 to go. That seems like good progress to me. I am confident that I didn't just lose water weight so far. Also, I feel that this diet is helping me change my eating habits for the better. I am buying alot more fresh fruits/veggies and making sure I'm serving them at every meal - even when I'm not on this diet.

Just for encouragement for you folks out there that need it...

I started the CSD for the first time just before Thanksgiving, I stuck to it (sort of) for the first three days. I lost 7 lbs the first day (probably water weight, but I kept it off), then totally went off it for the remainder of the week. Somewhere in there I gained back about three lbs. I started it again on Monday and the first two days I lost 1.5lbs each day and the third I lost 2lbs.

So, in total, I have lost around 10lbs and I am still going. I have found it amazingly easy (especially for someone who LOVES food as much as I do) and it WORKS! So, hang in there. Maybe one of these days I will actually start exercising!

I started on Sunday and lost 10 lbs. in three days! Whooo hooo! I'll post at the end of my first week but I am hoping for 15. I am one of those people who have quite a bit to lose so I seem to be losing quicker.

Yes, fitforlife, I didnt see any weight loss till day 9 last time!! You gotta just stick with it and eat as much soup as possible. Please dont starve yourself as your body will hold on to weight. That's the mistake a lot of people make.

this diet is harder to stick to than i thought it was going to be. i have a question...the day when it's just veggies--day 2--i put butter on my squash before i grilled it...is that cheating? because now i'm afraid that it has messed the whole thing up because i'm at the very end of day 5 and havent noticed a difference. what do i do? i've been trying so hard to be disciplined on this diet that i hope one minor thing didnt mess it up. any suggestions on what to do or how to improve the weight loss? ...or encouragement

i might add that i weigh approximately 155lbs, i'm 5'6" and a student at a university in Texas...where everything is bigger--including me! haha
