Grilling Fruit Ideas for Day 1 and Day 3

If you are trying the Cabbage Soup 7 Day Diet for the first time and need some ideas for Day 1 and Day 3 here are a few suggestions while using watermelon!

Grilled Watermelon
Day 1 and Day 3 of the 7 Day Plan allow you to eat fruit and what better fruit for the hot summer than watermelon!!

If you’ve never grilled watermelon before you are in for a treat. After slicing the watermelon into 1.5 inch wedges sprinkle with salt and then let the wedges drain. Pat dry with a paper towel. Brush the watermelon lightly with olive oil (yes lightly) and grill over high heat until grill marks have formed. This usually takes 3 to 5 minutes depending on your grill. Remove from grill and sprinkle lightly with a little sea salt for taste or skip the salt if you aren’t a big sea salt fan. Serve immediately.

Other fun fruits to grill include pineapple, peaches and pears which happen to be priced reasonably now!

Day 3 allows you to have both vegetables and fruits so why not throw a basket of your favorite veggies on the grill along with your fruit. You won’t feel deprived and can make some fun veggie and fruit skewers!

When you are not on the cabbage soup plan you can drizzle a little balsamic vinegar on the fruit for a refreshing bold, distinctive taste. Especially good on grilled watermelon and pineapple!
